These Sherlock Holmes types are all over this forum, not sure if they are jealous because they didn't grab the deal first or because they don't have the isk to do it. In any event their tears are pretty tasty too. |

These "Sherlock Holmes types" are just normal pilots trying to enjoy a video game (or atleast in my case). Buying and selling is well known and has been done for a long time both in real life and Eve. Resellers buy high and sell low, nothing wrong with that.
Trading with characters is different than trading with items in game. A character is created by a player and trained by him for a long time, sometimes many many years. A player decides to sell his character mutltiple reasons, maybe he is quitting eve, lowering his account numbers or just wants a change. He decides to post a sales thread here and in most cases he does not know how much his character is worth because there are no guidelines. Then a re-seller bids him a offer and even lies to him that his character isn't worth more than what he is bidding and that his offer will expire in 'few hours' and in some cases the player decides to sell his character for the bid he has got. Thinking that the buyer is actually looking for a character to play, but instead sees his old character for sale on the forums the day after for a much higher price than he had sold him for the day before.
At the same time another player is looking for a new character but he wasn't quick enough so he has to buy the character he wanted so much for a much higher price from this reseller.
I am pretty sure CCP meant this forum for people that wanted to buy and sell characters and actually playe them, not trade with them.
You don't even train the character for a month or two and then sell it again, no you sell it after the 10 hour transfer time has been completed. To me this is just tastless.
Anyways these were my five cents.

Why am I jealous because I "warned" potential buyers that this character had been bought from a sales thread yesterday for 4b less then the character is being sold for the day after. I am also not wasting anyones time, because the seller can just ignore my post and I am giving him a free bump.
