The police did not say ANYTHING about that guy being related to LulzSec. Or to be related to Anon. Or to be related to any other specific group.
He may or may not. --- I don't know! I don't know why I did it, I don't know why I enjoyed it, and I don't know why I'll do it again! Bart Simpson. |

Of course they would, it'd be bad for them to appear weakened in any way, whether it really did or didn't.

Edited by: Castagar on 21/06/2011 16:41:10 "A British teenager suspected of being a mastermind behind notorious international computer hacking group LulzSec has been arrested in a joint police operation.
The arrest of the 19-year-old - named locally as Ryan Cleary - comes just days after the group claimed it brought down the US Central Intelligence Agency's website.
The alleged hack on CIA.gov occurred on the same day Lulz Security opened a telephone request line so its fans could suggest potential targets.
On Twitter, the group wrote: "Tango down - CIA.gov - for the lulz".
But there have been no tweets on the group's page since Mr Cleary's arrest."
However this article is interesting though Or maybe not.....
If it's really him and he get's extradited to the US they'll be dropping the book on him from a very very high height.

Where does US law put such hacking now in terms of criminality?
I know they changed the laws recently, can't remember the specifics. CNN dilutes the info far too much with hype and speculation...

Thanks to the Patriot Act, he can be processed as an enemy combatant. Straight to Gitmo without Trial or Charge.
Even in the 1990s the Secret Service handled major hacking cases in Secret Courts. They held one guy for years without so much as a hearing.
