Meh, Beck has gotten rich playing the fool. It's no worse than actors thinking that their political opinions carry more weight due to their stardom. Point is why do we care either of them say? Nothing said is ever fruitful wisdom. bags of hot air looking for attention. Neither really aid anything.
I'm not sure if its so much what he says. Generally its just good clean radio fun on days that I'm driving between jobs in my pick'm up truck.
Its that he makes the right kinds of people mad.
You know, the people who are silly enough to trust the New York Times, NPR and the networks. |

It's common courtesy to cite your sources, and as mittens was the source his name is mentioned, the story has been picked up by several mainstream sites now in and out of the gaming world. CCP can't patch stupid. |

No. It's pretty natural since his obit is probably the most detailed (and linked) piece on it from the community (and friend) angle so far. Of course he'll be quoted and used as a source.

Yeah, I especially liked how he had the guts to point out the obvious racism entrenched in the current administration, during the height of its popularity in early 2009. It blew people's minds.
Lots of people believe it, he had the guts to say it on the air. While I listened on and off to the guy since 2003, I gained a lot of respect for him since the last election. He isn't just talking on the radio - hes actively doing everything in his power to end the....worst ....presidency....EVAR. And with a fairly large audience and media crosssection - he can change quite a few minds, and do quite a bit of good for the USA. |

Can't the politics take a back seat for this one, eh?
Paul Oliver wrote:Anyone else kinda disgusted how this MIttani guy keeps getting mentioned in the news in relation to this? As if he was the only person that wrote anything about this... Try to separate the game from real life for a minute. The guy published a eulogy of a good friend for everyone to see and someone pointed the greater media in that direction. It's common practice for media to look to friends and family to fill in the blanks about the men behind the numbers. I for one think it's nice that they went out of their way to find stuff like this out.
Any implication that there's some ego driven hidden agenda is pretty damn ridiculous. Give it a break. |

I like him because every now and then, like a broken clock, he is right. One of my favorites was this time that he put two video clips of Obama speaking to different audiences with opposite messages on the same issue. So one of them was a lie for sure. The overall significance of the lie was small, but it was a cold hard lie nonetheless. |

Caught a politician pandering? Never have I heard such things! It only happens with every single one at that level. (Hell I think even Ron Paul has gotten caught. Though he admits to it that semi honest bastard.) Guess this is one of those things I'll never understand. Even when people outright spell it so to speak. |

You know, VR didn't just get mentioned in Glen Beck. It was in an article on Yahoo.com also. I think the difference between the two is that one Beck uses the news to a political purpose, and Yahoo was just reporting on the incident and the people that died.
So really, leave the politics out of this. Notice I just criticized Glen Beck for politicizing news. I have not mentioned my views of his political bent, or said that he is bent
DOH
Seriously though, this thread should get locked, because some people are trying to use it as advertising for Geln Beck. Which is inducing replys the other way. And this is taking everyone's focus off of the tragedy that caused us all to post. |

I wouldn't call that 'grown up media'. Madeleine Morgenstern, doesn't seem capable of stringing two words together without grammatical errors, the editors look like amateurs as well. If you must use 'be, being, been, am, is, isn't, are, aren't, was, wasn't, were, weren't.' & you should ever ever use those words, ever, at least use them in the proper context. |

Great that Eve gets free publicity...but in terms of Glenn Beck, that guy is the clown of the earth. So I'm not actually sure this is a good thing, at least if any of his viewers who take him seriously join the game. They will simply blame all the bad stuff in Eve on: A) the Jove B) Muslims C) Jews D) George Soros And the Jove are only in there because just like Muslims, Jews and George Soros that clown of the earth doesn't understand them Actually, like most other conservatives, Beck and his followers would not blame the Jews. Beck is extremely pro-Israel. Darn, you beat me too it. Well said
