Brand new macbookpro 17inch maxed and I cant even get the game to patch. "Some files were modified" error, over and over and over. I'm sorry, but as dev programmer this way out of the range of acceptable.

Tried patching normally yesterday night, opened Incarna to a Page Handling Fault.
Tried downloading the client from Eve Download, it cut off at 2.5GB (on this connection, roughly 4 hours in).
Now trying reinstalling a Tyrannis download from ages ago and patching from here.
CCP, can you please stop ignoring your Mac players, it's getting to be a joke that every patch we're having to deal with repairers and fix patches for issues that were reported on SiSi and issues which you should have dealt with in-house.
It really wouldn't be that much to ask that CCP buy a couple of Macs and test on them before deploying would it? Surely the 3-5% of your customer base is worth a $5000 outlay and maybe the 6 hours that it would have taken to find all these issues with one person testing?

and this..... a little bit later....
hi, i have done....
-delete the program folder "EVE" -delete "EVE Online" in application support -delete "EVE Online Preferences" in Preferences
-new mac client download -installing -patch
....and the same prob with Strip Miner 1 Blueprints and Small Tractor Beam Blueprints. no icons, no info, same scrolling bug and in "list-view" they are, in "icon view" not. mysterious: i can produce with a Strip Miner Blue (via list view), but after the job there is no blueprint icon in hangar, but the produced strip miner is! also there is a big sort bug in station hangar icon view. icons come and go.
another thing: the salvager I icon is back (look at my last post, from above) and the locked ship target icons too.
and another one.... there is no function of anti aliasing, and if i set shader to high there are lights/mirrors, if my avatar is near or on balcony in CQ. i think there is a conflict with the station lights.

Petition it I would say.
Then again, last patch made the EVE online stuff go into ~/users/HDname/Library/Aplication Support/EVE Online
If you trash that, most likely the cache in there things may work again.

Before the next round of beta testing begins, I want to take a moment and thank the Mac community for making it possible to play Eve. There is a group of technically skilled Mac folks who tirelessly fill-in for CCP. I want you to know just how much I appreciate what you do. Of course, I mean no disrespect to the CCP Mac devs and support staff. I'm sure they are just as frustrated as we. Yet if it were not for the Mac community, and specifically those who troubleshoot each patch on the fly, Eve would not be playable.
So thanks!

I'm having issues with blueprints. Not showing up in icon view, cannot show info, scrolling problems. I've seen a few people mention this problem in various threads. Any fixes?

Latest updates installed. Ingame performance (if you can call it that) is pretty bad, there is lag when session changing even on lowest quality settings. I am also getting socket closed issues every hour.

Greetings
Just re-activated my account (was away since 2006).
Clean Eve Online install on a Mac Proc 5.1 (2x QuadCore 2.4 ghz) with 6 GB RAM and ATI Radeon HD 5770 /w 1 GB Ram. I havent install any other software aside Adobe Photoshop, Office, Starcraft and World of Warcraft.
EVE client keep crashing on and on. Character creation often break. (Texture disapear, 3d model disapear) Took me a good hour before I manage to make it, and even on my portrait the texture are skin over cloth.
Overall performance are pretty bad in station, input lag between my command and the game. I didnt undock yet as it crash too often for me to get there. I did a test and left it running for a long period without touching it, didnt crash. It's really when I interact with the game.
I have no performance issue in any other game / software.
Any advice?

I have been getting terrible performance since the latest Client Update (1.0.1 #2, I believe).
Chats not responding, major lag, windows failing to load and tons of client crashes.

using Imac 2010 27in version 3G intel cor i3, Radeon HD 4670 256vram Mac os 10.6.7
Cant patch from Incursion to Incarna...grinds to hault Cant download client...grinds to halt One early attempt stated files downloaded but corrupted so would not install.
Appears sending server quits after about 180mb of 5G data available.....just grinds to a halt. Have contacted ISP and speed tests for computer, router, and modem all check out ok. No other problem with any other functionality of the internet
This is my experience to date.
Naturally I have petition is trying to share this info with ccp.
What is amazing is the loyalty of so many frustrated Mac users to this game. Perhaps it is that we all are addicted by the time we have spent in our escape from reality. Some responses have seemed overly harsh....but withdrawal from any addiction can be ugly.
Heres hoping that CCP gets it together soon. Until then.....the song "Cold Turkey"...plays over and over and over and over in my brain as wander about my home and repeatedly attempt to regain access to the numbing dark environment of Eve.
Hey, heres a suggestion.....Lets go back to Incursion!!!!....that way ccp will stop loosing customers and they can go buy some Macs and actually get Incarna up and running before re-launch.

It appears to crash less upon quitting if it is run in windowed mode.
Edit:
Originally by: Clementine A The MAC OS X ~/Library folder can really get messy if applications have a bad behavior regarding its usage.
Previously, it seems that EVE preferences & cache files where located in ~/Library/Preferences and moved to ~/Library/Applications Support.
The first side effect is that all my prefs are gone after incarna patch.
The second side effect is that the updater didn't deleted the old directory, leaving more than 2GB of unused files.
The third side effect is that all CACHE files are backuped by time machine, because they're not in ~/Library/Caches. Backuping a cache is pointless & waste of disc space. EVE should put cache files in ~/Library/Caches instead of app support.
The workaround is to manually delete old preferences directory & instruct time machine to omit EVE cache directory, but that's not the behavior expected for application on a mac.

i have no idea why, but eve is jerking about with low fps and slowing the computer as a whole with limited graphics on, a clear cache and after rebooting the computer.
it blows really bad.

Also been having these issues in the recent past. I went to the extraordinary length of replacing my Belkin N1 Vision router with a Billion BiPac router (the latter being more VOIP friendly than the former) and that netted me... nothing, except a new router.
The client does seem to crash less during the last couple of weeks. Symptoms seem to be less severe. Now I can listen to the FC but can't participate in any discussions.
Tonight I managed to get the Windows client running under VMware Fusion 3.1.3 at upwards of 50 FPS on a 2 GB 32-bit Windows 7 Virtual Machine (with 3D extensions enabled). Works very nicely, I have to say! Quite playable, in fact.
I want to check whether the EVE voice woes still persist in that environment and may report back.

Ditto to the Eve Voice problem, built a nice new Nightmare for Incursions and can't use it as every time I activate the Fleet Channel I loose all functionality, save for voice itself. Rubbish

PLEASE try out SiSi
I never really had a problem with EvE Voice, but having a mac Pro and a Fiber connection to the internet might skew my results. It does seem to be much more stable, as well as the jukebox bug seemed to be better, but as i turned off sound about a year ago, i am really not sure what it is "Supposed' to sound like LOL

I'll throw in a unit of Tritanium.
Personally, as soon as I log in I turn down most graphics options, change to Windowed mode and disable Captain's Quarters. I'm not in this for the eye candy, I just want to play Eve.
At this point, everything works quite well for me with the exception of Eve Voice. This truly blows, because it basically means I can't run Incursions. Every time I join a fleet and join audio it works for like 30 seconds, then goes silent. No error messages, no disconnects, no crashing, just silence. This is recreatable ad infinitum.
TeamSpeak works perfectly for me. Ventrilo and Mumbles work flawlessly.
Why is CCP hitching itself to such a flaky and undependable voice technology when thousands of alternatives, even free, open-source ones, exist?
