CCP is owed a debt of gratitude from the multitude of fat white slobs living in the parents basement.
You see in the next few months winter is coming and us poor s.o.b's never think that far into the future so many of us cover ourselves in empty pizza boxes/chinese takeout trays/dingy blankets that haven't been washed in many many years. So we get cold while we fly our srsly important spaceships.
But No Longer!
CCP has had the foresight and proves that it takes care of all of the basement dwelling fat slobs that pay with their parents credit card or by bot farming for plexes and has released this expansion in preparation for the harsh cold winter that lies ahead.
We can now keep warm by the hot red glow of our graphics cards as we all huddle by our cases after clearing the pyramids of alcohol/mountain dew/red bull cans so we can hobble over to our computer cases, hopefully it doesn't get too hot to catch fire to the 20 hefty bags of cigarette buts and dried dead mice fur. On one hand that will be such a sad occasion to the families, but on the other hand it will mean less lag for those left behind in Eve.
So Salute CCP!

Wrong.. a game can indeed work in a way that is not healthy for the long life of a video card, although is almost impsosible to burn a card instantly. try laoding some CUDA cores on your GPU and overlaod just a few cores while leavign the others iddle... your card won't resist a few days even due to the uneven generation of heat inside the chip.
its not easy to do it on accident, but you CAN do a very BAD programming and reduce the life of a video card.

the evolution of massive multiplayer games tend to go FORWARD, thus adding things that require some upgrades in order to run efficiently. Get with the times and upgrade your systems. Its not up to CCP to make sure everyone has the gear, EVERY. SINGLE. MMO. has done graphics updates, tweaks, additions, etc that require higher performance.
"system requirements may change" i believe is what it says on the back of every single mmo game.
Its not ccps fault, its yours for procrastinating. To the people who update your computer on a regular basis, kudos to you. To the rest, get on it.

I have an nvidia 570.. what you suggest I would get of more advanced than that? not many options...
issue is this has been INCREDBLY poorly programmed! Runs slower than crisis 2 on same computer.. and runs UGLIER than Stalker (before they patched it)

Stock cooling is fine for stock speeds. People just don't pay attention to dust and cable management, it seems, and then OMGWTF game killed my pee see!
I sympathize because I was once that kind of stupid, as well.

Hrm, my HD 6870 went up 4 degree's celsius... With all maxed settings. Must be an issue with older cards. I guess it could be the "Nvidia" features not enabled on ATI. In which case even better reason i will never buy Nvidia.

Because not wanting to constantly clean your fans of any minuscule deposit of dust is stupid ?
Because not wanting to run your graphics cards at 100% GPU usage (and therefore not at peak heat generation) for as long as you're docked is stupid ?
Because wanting to have the same FPS and/or GPU usage in station and in space without having to manually retweak the graphics settings every time you dock or undock is stupid ?
Because liking the old hangar view more than CQ, not just because it's faster, but also because it makes more RP sense too, that's also stupid ?
Pray tell, what else is stupid exactly ?
