I won't claim to be a close friend, but my life was touched by this person. We played this same massive game that filled with politics and war, similar but very different to the real world. He put his life on the line for his country, my country, at the forefront of danger, and now he is gone.
I was hesitating bringing this up here due to it being out of game events, but I can't think of a forum more fitting to bring this up. He was a statesman and diplomat in the game, this game. If an event happened, he would be here representing his alliance often exchanging barbs and banter with many of his alliances allies and enemies.
He knew me as that guy who lasted a week and was trolled out of goonswarm, and remind others as well just about every time him and I were in the same spot. I believe we also argued on politics as well on the something awful forums. I sent him a angry evemail when blackmark was reset. When talking with others about my eve experience, and making decisions of where I should go next with my friends I mention that the second in command in goonswarm, vile rat hates my guts, and the first in command, the mittani personal ordered me to be awoxed destroying my battleship and pod. Petty, funny, silly stuff.
The mittani was a good friend of his, and has much more to say about him.

That means he was rather important when Goons, as an entity, decided to do Weird Things in EVE.

While I share you point of view. How about you guys not sit here and bicker..? You both kind of have a point. VR's death affects all 0.0 alliances, as their main contact for GSF is no longer with us.
However, the death of VR is not really a topic for the COAD section.
Besides, ISD guys have been locking any threads about VR that came after the thread-naught. If you have something to say, do it there. Keep it clean and respectful or your post may very well be deleted. The ISD team is closely monitoring that thread and have already deleted several off-color-disrespectful posts.

I found out that a bigger topic is in general discussions latter, it is a more unified place to pay respect , and informative with links to a news piece.
I thought it was fitting to bring up here he was a diplomat and leader, I remember him having some presence here. This place was quite the buzzing hub of activity, and was and still is the trolling and arguing forum.
He was also active in the ideas forum (not everything he did was being a partisan for goonswarm), so his footprint here was clearly a just fraction of his pastime. This is one of the more public places where he communicated with many people, not in goonswarm, which of course lead to much more arguing often with goonswarms most bitter foes, so a bit more funny and interesting. If you can remember anything about him here, what he has said, if he talked with you, tell all.
Bound to be something in the archives, if they go back far enough, maybe even stuff on the BOB defector when BOB still existed. |

who cares, yes its a crazy story why he got killed, but how many ppl who played eve died already for your country lets say in afghanistan, did you care about them, no so why now, no difference, stop making a big eve drama out of it |
