I know this thread has been done many times already but I felt we needed a thread where we could have a grownup discussion about this, not some ragequitemo thread.
I begin with kudos to CCP. The new CQ looks great and, despite the fact I'm running an outdated ATI card, it runs fairly well. The turrets are also a nice touch and overall I'm very pleased with the patch.
However, I do wish that we could have a choice between going straight to CQ and staying in our ship. I'm not sure if it's a coding issue or just simply the personal preference of someone at CCP. Maybe a dev could speak on that?
I personally would love to see the station stay the same (with ship spinning) and have a button on the station services that allows you to leave your pod and enter CQ. This allows those just docking up to top off on ammo the ability to get in and out quickly, among other things, and allows those that want to WIS the ability to do so as well. It really breaks immersion to have to dock, leave ship in pod, leave pod, towel off the pod goo, and get dressed, all so I can grab a few rounds of ammo.
Feel free to speak up if you agree and leave comments and/or other suggestions related to the station environment.

agreed... i run eve at full settings on my laptop without a problem... however as soon as i dock up i just get hit by 2fps and lower
on top of that, if i turn off the environment im greeted by a f***in wall, how am i supposed to see what ship im in?
either allow us the choise of leaving the ship (which i assumed we would get anyway) -or allow us the option to disable CQ and go back to our hanger view

Welcome to some time ago - what to do so CQ isn't universally hated.
CQ is sort of nice, I guess. But lack of options, mandatory nature = INSTAHATE
You guys never listen early enough nor make noise strong enough when it matters.
Guess what, even the "(do not) load station environment" is supposed to be TEMPORARY only.
