My Merlin looks as large as, if not larger, than my Drake. Is there a perspective or scale issue?

New player here. I was disappointed by ship scale in this game - I had this image of flying stupidly huge ships that would dwarf my first lil Frigates, but even my cargo haulers (which have 100x the volume of a Frigate or Cruiser) are basically the same size.

The difference in space is much more noticeable, and in the previous station was noticeable as well. Just seems a little off with the new CQ.

You should probably write somewhere in the initial post that this is a CQ only issue to clarify things.
I have the same issue, if viewing ships from my balcony a Caldari shuttle even seems to be larger than a Golem. All ships I've tested (Shuttle, Golem, Tengu, Hulk and Bustard) seem to have the same size in CQ.

Same here: Claw, Vagabond, Tengu, Golem, Orca all appeared roughly the same size from the hangar balcony. ______________________________________________________ PVP is a question that has no one right answer but a lot of wrong ones. - Aelana Anais

From what I've been told, the game basically moves smaller ships closer to your view range then the larger ships, there by distorting the perspective.

However, it still looks like the ship is floating above the centerpoint of the "hover platform". Which is why it looks like all ships are the same size inside the hangar. If smaller ships are actually moved closer to the balcony it seems to create an optical illusion our non-augmented brains apparently cannot handle ;)
My suggestion would be to just center the ships above the platform, no matter the size, and add a right-click option to view the ship up close so you can see the details.
I just retested this with a Chimera and a shuttle. It really looks strange :/

Well it was either the ships get moved closer or the actual balcony itself gets moved closer, I can't entirely remember the thread. My apologies.
