For 8 long years I have enjoyed viewing my ships in the hanger.
I am now looking at a door...
Who at CCP thought this was a good idea?

exactly! at least until the full stations are revealed give us our good old UI back! CQ isn't anything to be bragging about yet!

Turn off the station environment then:-
ESC Menu (Display & Graphics tab), untick 'Load station environment'

Hmm yes, ship spinning back plz.
Why is it so hard to leave everything as is and put a button on the overview "leave ship" which brings you to CQ?
We are losing an iconic function, nostalgia, ship spinning, I mean seriously, why?

Not just this, but CCP has taken the focus off the "Ships" and put it on the dumb "Character". I don't mind being able to look at the ships from the outside, but I feel it should be an option, and not the only way.
It sort of feels like your gradmother is buying you a CD. It is a nice gesture, but gradma thinks I want to listen to christian rock, and I am into death metal. : [
CCP is like, "You are going to LOVE this!" And we are like... ....sigh.. oh... the classic Stryper hits.

Just turned off cq as it was pointless and annoying...

why is it so hard to add a button 'enter QC'
i like spinning ships, i like double clicking for my cargo, i liek being able to see what ship im in and about to undock in.
this sucks ccp and is a step backwards in fuctionality

Ok I completely agree that the old style station should be put back in place with a button on the top right (where the current recustomize button is)that allows you to enter the captains quarters.
This may sound petty but this new station environment slows down being able to dock quickly in a fight change ships (by draggin the ship into the hangar space which is no longer possible) and undock. Not only do you have to wait for the environment to load but then needin to walk around to check what ship your actually in etc etc and then use some gay hologram to change ships or right clickin the ship u want and goin through the list to make it active.
IF THIS IS NOT GOING TO BE CHANGED (Which I already know it won't be), then at least give us the option to have the old style back in the esc menu instead of a picture of some door. Evil or Very MadEvil or Very MadEvil or Very Mad
This update is quite nice to look at but isnt practical and just makes things in eve even more complicated and frustrating to deal with. ITS NOT SIMPLE and it should be an option
