Originally by: Velios I didn't turn it off, I think it's actually very nice, and it shows that the technology is there, and solid, and ready to be expanded upon once we can explore stations, and gain access to a limitless array of new features that could be in the pipeline.
I'm imagining proper interaction with your agents in the future, Mass Effect style? and some great scenario's for putting your ISK on the line with gambling and mini games between players. Proper face to face trading, and the ability to open ones own custom clothes stores in the future would also be really cool!
Now with Incarna, EVE feels 'Massive' once again, when you look at your battleship hovering in the hangar, immense in it's size - this evokes the same feelings of scale and enormity that I felt 8 years ago when I first started playing EVE, and I personally can't wait to see where CCP take it next.
I think all you morons saying 'turn it off' should just grow up a bit, and see the potential of incarna, rather than the deliberately restrained version of it that we see now. Putting the technology in EVE was a HUGE step, and while it doesn't appear much just now, the foundations seem to be well and truly in place for great things... and besides - there's not another MMO out there that has graphics anywhere near as good and as adult as these.
Good work CCP, I can't wait for more.
I'm sorry, but putting in technology that strains purpose built machines where games such as Crysis function easily on them in comparison isn't something I would call a 'good' thing. When you change the footprint of a game as drastically as CCP did, and the end result is worse than what you had before by a factor of 3-5.
I was looking forward to Incarna. The idea interests me a lot. The implementation, poorly optimized code and the sheer audacity CCP has with that MT crap they are trying to pull...
It will be a cold day in the hottest part of the deepest, darkest, most terrifying room of hell before CCP see's any more of my RL isk. This expansion.. is one of the worst (not THE worst, but running a close second to SWG) failures in implementation I have ever seen since i've been around in the gaming world (Beta tested Everquest, so that is a LONG time).
Fly safe. Enjoy your game. I'll be playing World of Tanks while you do that. I'm finding it more enjoyable than EVE right now so... o/ -
