I was considering getting a reasonably pimped Bhaalghorn to terrorise some really bad pirate campers, but while sitting around doing nothing and browsing the latest fashion catalogue I came across a stunning Monocle.
The problem is they cost about the same. Should I pew pew in style, knowing I could lose it all, especially since dogma (that doesn't affect players in any way) will randomly forget to apply my training bonuses to the ship, or should I sit around on my arse with nothing to do but scratch my head and get all excited about this fancy ocular luxury?

Perhaps if you place the monocle over a laser turret like a crystal, you can do 4 PLEXes worth of damage to the bads.

i think you should skip the bhaalghorn and spend that isk on some clothes, i think you will get more out of the game in this way

You need cool clothes whilst in a station, there's no need to go out into space to fight anyone, not a hard choice, say no to space ships.

First you buy Bhaalgorn. With that Bhaalgorn, you run 156146546 missions for isk or ransom a few players, preferrably those who already have monocles. Turn isk into plex and plex into aurum. Buy monocle. path 1
Path 2: First you buy monocle. Sell 45610564161561 screenshots of you with monocle for isk. With isk buy Bhaalgorn.
I don't see what's the problem here, you can have both with just reasonable effort.
