Or even better bring back the old station spinning view (along with the old disabled station spinning view) and have a "Leave ship option". I mean there is nothing in your CQ which you cant do on your ship (interface) so why would you force us to use it everytime we dock? As far as immersion goes. Lets just say im a real life space man. If i have to go to a space station in order to have 15 metric tons of exotic dancers loaded onto my ship. This loading is an automated process and happens almost instantly (as it appears to be in eve). Would i even want to undock my pod from my ship, fly down to my CQ, Get out of my pod, detach all my implants and pod kajiggers, put some clothes on, stand and look at my ship for 5 seconds before i do the whole of the mentioned process backwards again.

Why would you want the old hangar back anway? Tbh it left a bad taste in my mouth, from viewing it for hours and hours.
I agree that the current CQ-hangar needs a improvement or two, but only the one you can see from CQ.
If computer problems are your reasons for asking CCP to put their work-capacity on otherwise worthless content, then i suggest you reconsider, and stick with "the door" for now until you can get yourself a normalized computer.
Eve is not a very hardware demanding software, my computer is three years old and i run two accounts in CQ at the same time, with 40-50 fps on both.

There are two ways this could go down.
1. We all upgrade our PC's?
2. CCP incorporates the old "in station view," with an option to disembark the ship and enter CQ?
I like CQ a lot and I do agree that if you mine or just do missions it gets kinda slower to do these things. My PC can handle CQ, but I think having the old in station view with an option to move on into the station would be better for all.

I'm with it. A choice of versions (the old station interface if user choose it supporting old graphic cards!!! or with CQ if he need to waste time and cpu power) is the only solution.

+1; Dock & see the ship in station as normal, click to leave ship.... no reason to force this burden on every player when they dock, too graphic intensive.

It's possible to undock for a fight with your shuttle lol At least put it in a photo on that damn door!

This is not a question performance. My PC can handle CQ just fine, but CQ uses too much power when I like to idle and chat in station for hours.
The problem is that CCP actually REMOVED perfectly usable functionality and replaced it with the picture of a door.
I am not against CQ, it may very well evolve to a great experience, but why should it replace something that was easy and quick to use, practical and low power?

If Incarna is making your computer run slow-slow I have three solutions.
1. Upgrade your 2004 computer.
2. Buy a new computer.
3. Stop whining and let those of us who like our shiny graphics enjoy them in peace.

very progressive perspective, but I'm afraid when you are in login screen at right of your username you read a number of players that are logged in space.....that number isn't 1 but some thousands. So you have to share this universe with all of us the poor ppl with our scrap old ancient simple Core Duo's and our opinions about our game too.

I wonder how r e t a r d e d someone should be to not understand that this thread is NOT ABOUT CQ BEING SLOW. This thread is about what happens when CQ is turned off for ANY reason.
- Problem is when you turn CQ off there is a stupid image of a stupid doorway instead of something useful as before (spaceship). - Problem is you don't see your active ship with a glance at your screen (CQ being on or off). - Problem is you can't make a different ship active with a drag and drop (CQ being on or off). - Problem is you can't doubleclick on the screen anymore to open cargo, or rightclick on the ship to open drone/cargo/corp bay (CQ being on or off).
I have a fast computer with a huge screen, and still find these problems annoying.

This thread is about what happens when CQ is turned off for ANY reason. This thread is about the problems CCP created while designing CQ without attention to the user experience:

ABSOLUTELY RIGHT! for example, first thing I did when I first logged in INCARNA, I went to balcony and tried right click on my real ship not holos.....and.....TOTAL disappointment, ship is just float there for fun not for use :/ right click ship drop menu was past!!! I'm talking about usability or as jirij said the "user experience"... for me is falling apart here.

Ship spinning should be retained (it's just a pilot who will not be exiting his pod this visit).
Adding a time-sink via Captains Quarters is a good thing for traders and couriers (maybe there's another profession there eventually: station walking couriers), but I don't like compulsory - perhaps just restrict certain station services to those staying in the pod, which would make RP sense, or add an ISK fee (paying for a proxie to deal with station staff) to access them from the pod.
If you want players out of their pod, provide something of interest and lure them out - carrots don't annoy players as much as sticks.
At the very least, retain ship spinning until station walking involves some meaningful game-play.

As suggested before, CQ should have been available (for exemple next to Undock station you get a option to Walk out of your pod) as an option after you docked the old way or at least give us back the old way for those that don't want to load CQ.
Problem is atm CQ offers nothing while it takes loading time, ofc outside of the 15min of staring at the shiny screen when you load it for the 1st time.
When they add public area on the station to interact with the rest of the docked pilots and some other fancy stuff, for exemple lets say a balcony where you can watch who's waiting for you outside the station, you might take the time to load CQ and even then it should be an option after you docked normally.
After all, who wants to exit their pod for every little thing, when i can do it while i'm still inside?

Totaly agree with the op.Give us the option to enter CQ if we want to not force us into it everytime we dock.Sincerily hope we get the old hangar view back it was simple, somewhat elegant, functional and very fast when needing to do simple tasks like just swap into a new ship or unload some cargo.

I say +1
While I greatly enjoy the Captain's Quarters but it is very demanding on the system, and while easy too use it quite inefficient for making modifications to you either to walk to the holographic starship on your desk or dig through you stack of ships waiting for that to load. The disabled quarters is of course just as inefficient.
My ultimate dream would be that you come into a station into the old screen click a button and load the captain's quarters and can click another button too return to the ship spinning screen. This would make it much easier for those of us who often need to change fittings on the fly or quickly load ammo.

+1 I went from a laptop that could handle all 3 of my accounts to that same laptop bluescreening on the splash screen of incarna. I thankfully had another maching that is slightly more powerful enableing me to play ONE client without issues... turn a second one on and HOLY CRAP the lag. This is primarily what makes CQ to me completely worthless and not something CCP should have wasted their time on. I was going to make a new thread about this topic till i saw this one so mega bumping this one instead. _______________________________________________ I'd have something witty here but my wits have left me for my alt. |

Please put CQ in a button inStation and leave that option of using it to the pilot...soon as possible or we are gonna fly away from EVE's universe. Thank you
