Corp mate of mine just logged on to find we were getting to try to fight some war targets. short story
he RAGE UNDOCKED to join the fight and poped out of station in his pod
perhaps if we didnt have to guess what ship we were in or walk 5 mins (exaduration before anyone starts my system runs it fine. I just dislike it due it to being efectivly a hell of a long ass way to do **** we could do instantly the day before yesterday.) from the tv screen to the hanger to see wtf were in it might go along way to help with having fun in space.

Yes, but was it a faction pod. That makes all the difference. You can run or run in style.

Well aside from the balcony there is also the hollogram on your table to tell you what your in, or you could simply open the ship hangar to check.

Yep there are several points where you can see selected ship hologram there are 2 of on balcony and where you log in at the couch. Also you can see it in your ship hanger. ______________________ I am just a crazy cow |

Honestly, I don't think I've ever really looked at that big ship floating in the background of my hangar screen to tell what ship was active.
Seems kind of silly, I know. It was so big and obvious... But it was just kind of part of the scenery. I mean, if I got a new ship I'd ogle it a bit in the hangar. Or if I was bored I'd just spin the thing. But if I was actually playing, doing stuff, I just didn't even really look beyond the hangar window.
I always had my hangar window open in-station, and it's pretty clearly indicated which ship is active. Need a different ship? Right-Click, Make Active.

Let us say that you have a number of frigates in dock, each with a different fit.
How would sad crackly hologram tell you which one you were actually in or looking at? Is there anything useful like a label as there was in previous versions (right click, make active)?

Good point, also naming the ships is not an option unless you have some sort of code to remember to know what is fitted which then just gets out of hand.
Why is it not an option? Hello Directional scanner... ooh that's a nice fit on that ship... pew pew.
I have found this is one big niggle, if I log on and want to undock straight away I often find my self in the middle of the corridor to far away to see either the hologram or the ship and I have to slow boat in one direction or... click the fitting panel.
Why have they suddenly complicated things.
