Also, in case like me it didn't occur to you to try, you can select a slot that is in use and your job will be queued up for later.
(yeah, for ME that can mean waiting a month before your job starts, but at least you're not shut out entirely)

Make a corp of your own if your not already in an NPC corp. Look into New Eden Research alliance or other similar alliances. Much safer then joining a corp who's members you dont know.
You go asking corps about getting in for researching BPO's you may be asking for trouble if you get in the wrong corp.
An alliance will offer you slot/s on a POS somewhere but you put your BPO in a NPC station in your own corp hanger and research it from there. The alliance has no way to steal or mess with it.
If you are in a player corp, anyone with rights could snag all your expensive BPO's, kick you out and your screwed.
You will need the following skills: Laboratory Operation L4 Scientific Networking L1
That is about 30 hours of training or so. It's not a hard train and minimal time in deviating from your current Skill Queue. It's worth it for the security it offers if you choose to go down that path.
Hope this helps

Before you do all the work to putup a POS, please look at the costs associated with doing so.

My main runs a small highsec POS for BPO research and invention, and reduces direct ISK cost by using PI and ice mining a few hours a month to generate fuel. While time is money, this gives variation vs paying for fuel by missioning, while only needing to buy a couple of fuel items. Having some alts run PI, you can generate a good chunk of your fuel passively.

PIFMAF?
You could also sell the PI stuff on the market, a POS for ONLY BPO research is not cost effective.

You can run a small caldari in hi-sec with two labs for less than 100 mill a month, that's with no defenses of course.

In the short term it isn't, but it also depends on what BPO you are researching. I currently have a couple of capital ship BPOs I am researching for the purpose of copying later on. My capital component copies are funding the POS & still netting me a profit. Once the capital BPOs are at a ME level that is acceptable, I will set them up to copy instead of research.
