I've been from begining to end of a space-based MMO, and I can tell you that EVE is nowhere near its end. I can also guarantee you that CCP listens to their customer base infintiely more than SOE did. Anyway, the CQ and NEX changes have not changed the internet spaceship portion at all. SO, again, WTF are you losing?

As to standings, from a spaceship PvP point of view, what advantage does having better faction standings provide one player over another? Actually you wouldn't get banned for either, you can quite legitimately give your buddy $20 to go buy a PLEX to seel for isk to buy a ship in game, or you could just give him the ISK in game. What you can't do is try turn that isk back into dollars for whatever reason.

Other than a "leaked" document, where has this been proposed by CCP? CCP sells this game as different based on the sandbox of which the economic sandbox is probably the most important. I am certain they are aware of such and fail to understand what you believe they have to gain by cutting the player out of the economy. Because, by your own argument, they still receive only payment for 1 GTC. What is CCP's motivation for following the path you laid out?

If the spending of RL cash to plex stayed the same, CCP wouldn't make more money and would likely lose money due to quitting players. Now if CCP offers In-game non-vanity items, ONLY available FROM CCP, then spending will likely change and could in the short run bring in more money for them. There is a LOT of speculation here, no question about it, however, it's been hours with no response, CCP has for now abandoned the forums. I have a very old design for a space conquest type game where you take planets via different types of influence, such as war/peace/education/propaganda/religion etc. The idea was citizens were agent based and collected into groups of similar agents for processing, with several variables to control their lil personality like Close Combat (13 vars) or Dwarf Fortress (19). For example to build shinny guns you need good scientists (tech/materials to reverse engineer or improve) which need to be trained on nice planets with good schools and shipped by user defined routes to planets where they do their work. To make it not hog too much, all the scientists born in the same place, training at the same place and rate are processed as a group. An interesting part was 3D long-range navigation system where you choose a target, then choose where in orbit you wish to land relative to the target object. Lot of old pages of designs burried here somewhere if you want them.
