I don't usually do this. I don't think I have ever started a eve thread whining about anything before today, but I felt like I have to say something knowing full and well I will be trolled. I think that shows my feelings toward this game. A game it is, but a game that I and many others adore.
I started playing years ago. I had some RL friends that were playing and they convinced me to start. I did and had no idea what what I was getting into. It was described to me as HOMEWORLD online mixed with GTA. I was hooked. I got other RL friends to play. Some still play to this day, some have dropped off. All will say this is the hardest game they have ever played in their life. Some even say its like a 2nd job. I have built computers specifically to run this game better. I have left real life social events for a CTA. I have "EVE TIME" on my computer and my phone. I have installed this game on other people's computers to fuel a POS. I've went to work late because I forgot to set a skill and went back home. I have set alarm clocks to wake me in the middle of the night to change a skill (pre-skill que player here). I don't even want to THINK about the amount of money CCP has of mine from my many accounts over the years.
I have paid several time for CCP's exorbant transfer fees. I have been through all kinds of updates where eve wouldn't come back on and I lost SP. I've lost several expensive ships to crappy game mechanics. I've played on the test server just to help CCP for free. I have spent time searching for info for corp members that CCP should have provided to new players. I have spent months to train for a ship and it get nerfed out of existence. I've been stuck in the game and couldn't play a character for days. Through all that I've never once complained. So yes i do feel entitled to have my opinion heard.
I believe CCP knew this was going to happen and went ahead and did it anyway. In their eagerness to attrack new players they dismissed their older player base. I felt all along this was bad for EVE, but trudged on thinking I'll just opt out. During the whole "INCARNA" never did I think you would make my pc obsolete in a day for something I wanted no part of from the beginning. Even if I did I never thought you would MAKE me do it or see basically nothing. To ripen the deal you start selling monacles equivalent to faction fit dreds???
I don't know if you will actully lose lots of players. I don't know if the market will crash. I don't know if it will be hard to move stuff around in the game, I don't know if jump bridges are going to go down everywhere. I don't know if super capital fleets will be greatly reduced or any of the things I'm reading about on here. I'm not even wishing that on CCP. I DO know that older players, carebears, and alts make this game run and you have successfully nerfed all at the same time.
BRAVO....BRAVO!!!!
ps I was going to silently leave and only decicided to post anything due to the overwhelming similar response i saw here.

I've lost much of my enthusiasm for Eve literally overnight. Sad because Eve was so awesome. So different from other games. We've tolerated all the bugs and unfinished ideas. But now it just feels like we are just paying to playtest the engine for their next game while they try to grab whatever cash they can get. It's not the changes per se that disappoint me, it's the F U attitude. He put... creatures... in our bodies... to control our minds. He made us... say lies... do things. |

IMO eve used to have the most stunning graphics for the processing power needed, eve looked amazing for me, ran it solid fps, it was about functionality and looking good, incarna looks like crap and runs like crap.

Read it and then feel like a douche. You are not unlike CCP in their disregard of user feedback.
To OP: I can understand where you're coming from, having played since 2004 (pre skillqueue was something else...) but "Panda Name" is right in that the most effective way to get your message across to CCP is just to cancel your current sub (even if you plan to reactivate when your time expires, it should still give them some pause if enough players do it).

What .. "attract new players"? CCP doesn't do anything to attract new players. Walking around in a closet that requires huge computer resources? I don't think so.

If you just see the "expansion" as new turrets, a light JB nerf and no more ship spinning there's hardly anything that's changed. What are you talking about?

Tell me how I can cyno chain a ship from empire to deep null sec. All the newer players think that everything happens by CCP or Magic. Where do you get those shiny new ships and modules from? You think this will only effect care bears. Wait 3 months and see how the market dries up.

As an older player, carebear and alt unfortunately I cannot endorse this comment. I do not feel nerfed. eve is about adapting and it took me like 30seconds to adapt this time i.e. took a little time to find the switch to turn off CQ when I don't need it.

In response to everyone's *****ing about all this stuff I will say the following. I have played EvE online for nearly 2 years now and never once have I seen a big Patch released that was not modified in some large way after the fact. Has anyone thought that the reason you cannot opt out of "Incarna" properly yet maybe, oh just maybe might be related to the fact that it was just patched in 2 days ago and they have bugs with way more game ruining flaws they need to attend to 1st. And as far as the expensive clothing goes CCP will reduce the price as soon as the realize nobody can afford anything therefore they are not making money. With that said even if they didn't lower the price who gives a S$%# I mean serious if you are that concerned with your char having an eye piece in eve that does nothing to alter actual game-play then you deserve to go join more people of your age back in WoW. Get over it guys it seems like people are just looking for a reason to whine about Eve when in truth CCP cares about its members very much.
