I am waiting for word on what CCP has to say about this entire situation, if I do not get a PROMISE that Micro transactions will NEVER effect gameplay I am gone.
On the flip side if players will never be charged RL cash to get an advantage over other players I will resub my two inactive accounts.
Its up to you CCP

Well didn't they say already a couple of times that Micro transactions will not effect gameplay? That's why is vanity items...

Both my accounts are a hair away from being cancelled. Any game that allows players to swipe a credit card and gain an advantage is no longer a game worth playing. It's no longer a matter of skill, teamwork, or logistics but a game of "who has spent more money". CCP will be indifferent as they'll have made a profit and have no stake in the outcome of in-game affairs.

It isn't VANITY items, they said AUR for ships, ammo and faction standing.

Their internal bulletin suggests they are considering implementing microtransactions which do effect gameplay. On the flip side they haven't committed to that yet, so who knows. I've cancelled my automatic renewal, will see where things go in the next couple of months whilst the time runs out.

There is no point in having faith or listening to promises. Company will do what they want and that is it. Best way forward for you is to play one month at a time if that and wait to see what they are going to do and then make informed decision if you are willing to keep playing or not. Hell, take a break for 6 months. Saves more money.
Threatening to quit does not cut it. Press that button and leave for few months and they might notice if you word your parting message well.

Its not a "Look at me" thread, its a reasonable request and also a way for CCP to make more money without "Selling" in game advantages.
I love this very important space ship game and I want it to maintain the original vision.
EVE is HARD!!! (unless you have extra money to spend and then we can accomidate you)
This is not what EVE has ever been these past long years.
If CCP wishes to add content for sale I have no issues with this as long as they do not give players an advantage over what someone else has who chooses to not pay.
An example can be thus:
NEW SHIP FOR SALE!!! Looks super cool and we have purchased the liscencing from Lucas Arts to introduce to you the IMPERIAL STAR DESTROYER!! (Has exact same fittings and stats as the Megatron navy issue, but looks like a freakin IMPERIAL STAR DESTROYER!!)
Yours for only 250,000 Aurum, limited run of only 200 hulls will be made)
There ya go, added revenue and exclusivity without breaking game ballance.

i Will be closing my eve account when BF3 launches
whether i ever open it again is dependant on how things go,
i can only speak for myself but it looks like far too many people spend far too much time on eve anyways
alot of us should get a life :P

I'm not ready to cancel. If MT goes beyond vanity items, though, I'll be disappointed. What I'd like, for now, is some kind of CCP statement that clarifies things for us.

Considering that I'm paying for new content that my system can't run (and I have a high end system + high end ATI card), I'm getting less than I had before for the same price. Honestly, I don't think the developers actually tried to use their creation, because if they did, they would have discovered what a dog it was: way way too slow, and adds nothing but eye candy. In fact, it makes station functions harder/limiting. Plus it's delusional to think things will change/get better. Yah - hovering over the cancel button. When SW:KotOR comes out, I think I'll devote some time to that.
