Real question or not I would like to know what EVE is worth for CCP. I'm well aware you would also need the carbon code to further develop it and CCP wont give that away but lets say its only the IP, including art, fiction, and any copyright related to EVE.
How much is EVE worth?

Current sub rates over $70m, less cost of Dev/maintain, staff, pension and health care etc... $650m minimum giving the operating restrictions of it being based Iceland due to pension and foreign access rights being less then elsewhere. Note:this is based on extrapolations of market price paid for MMO operators in the past, The actual value of CCP itself would be higher. ***By coffee alone I set my mind in motion, by the beans of Java thoughts acquire speed, the hands acquire shaking, the shaking becomes a warning, by coffee alone I set my mind in motion.*** |

At the moment it isn't worth much. No investor would touch this with a ten foot pole with the huge risk of the distance between the supplier and it's customer base.

How much is it worth or how much do CCP want for it?
Y'know, recent evidence hardly suggests there may be a MASSIVE disconnect between the two or anything.

I'd buy it for a dollar...
Then: #force the hampsters to bring back old hangarview with CQ as a button
#guarantee the comunity that aurum will become separate from in-game market and will never be anything other than VANITY!
#keep working and finishing incarna as an OPTION for everyone!
#get back to actuall spaceship game issues!

Sold for one dollar! Seriously though, wasn't there a quote from before where CCP said they wouldn't give up Eve for anything? They need to stand by that and prove that they still care as much for the entire (legit) playerbase as they do to getting paid.

I do not think that CCP would part with the IP under any circumstances, it is their core product and the basis for all future growth of their business. As for what its worth, id say somewhere around $500, carbon might just double that however. There is a lot of goodwill and potential in EVE, and the tech stands head and shoulders above everything else on the market. -------------- |Miff to that| -------------- |

The question might be unrealistic but I was expecting serious answers. This isnt meant to say wow! EVE is worthless now.. maybe I link to this post in a year and ask again and we can all point and laugh at CCP how they lost it all.
I seriously doubt CCP will stick with EVE once WoD becomes a big hit, especially after they haved killed EVE. There is a big twilight community out there much bigger than the internet spaceship community, the biz devs will definetly smoothtalk their way into the hearts of the management. Soon CCP will abandon the internet spaceship community and concentrate more on the, larger, way more lucrative, blood-sucker-lover community. Those kind of customers are also more interested in vanity items than gameplay so it fits perfectly in the scheme.
Now back on topic, how much is EVE? And I dont mean whole CCP or devs and janitors included, just the EVE IP.. all Im intersted in is the price of the internet spaceship game not the company that abandons it.
