Hi everyone,
I'm starting a small trading firm specializing in high-speed hauling and trading and am currently looking for angel VC investments under 25 million ISK. I'm offering an 18% monthly interest rate on investment accounts opening under 10 million ISK, 20% for accounts valued under 15 million ISK, and 22% on all accounts above 15 million ISK. Again, please no investments over 25 million--risk is inherent with any venture capital investment and I feel it's important to limit risk of investors as well as my own liability. Withdrawals above 20% of account value before the first month of opening are subject to nullification of accrued interest and a 10% penalty.
This represents a unique opportunity to fuel small business growth in the trading sector, as well as make a little extra on your pocket change (especially for those of you with large pockets :D). These terms are definitely negotiable, and I'd be happy to discuss investment in or out of game.
All investments should be made out to Adonis Peverell with reason code ROA-INV. On receipt of funds, you'll receive an account number and pin keyed to your account for balance inquiries, withdrawals, or just chatting about your investment.

Hi,
Is this a ongoing investment, and if so is there the option to increase investment above 25m isk in the future.
For example, I am willing to invest 25m on my main and alt, both to receive 22% interest per month.
If this becomes stable for a period of 3months I would be willing to double my investment on both accounts for a negotiable interest term.
Also would you submit to a "Subject Access Request" whereby on request all information in regards to my account will be passed over to me, this will include any tracking you are doing on the funds tied to my account and interest payments.
Hope this makes sense, and I hope I can do business with you.

This would indeed become an ongoing investment should it prove profitable. However, interest rates are only guaranteed for the first month given the nature of the operation. After 3 months (or sooner), the investment should be stable enough to allow additional deposits, subject to a cap depending on market growth.
As for information requests, in that this is a small mutual investment pool operation, details on investment activities of specific funds can't be granted due to logistics, and the sensitive nature of trade routes. However, information on account balance, pending interest payments to the account, interest accrued to date, and funds availability should be available at most any time.
To clarify interest payments: Interest is compounded monthly based on starting balance for that calendar month, and is prorated for mid-month account openings (i.e. if you open an account on the 15th, you'll receive half a month's interest, compounded at the beginning of the next calendar month). Deposits in current accounts made after the beginning of the month can be prorated on a case-by-case basis depending on size.

Q4 Republic of Awesome Midweek: ROA Investments is still accepting investors! Interest payments on accounts are due the first of the month. Quarterly profits are looking good, and a full monthly report will be released at the end of this quarter.
Important note: The investment cap of 25 million ISK is set to be increased on the 1st of the month due to higher than expected returns!
For current investors and those wishing to open accounts before the cap is increased, all deposits received in Q1 of July will have full interest for July applied to the higher balance.

As of today, the investment cap has increased to 50 million ISK. Please note that you may accrue a full months interest on new balances by getting your deposit in by the end of Q1 for July. Interest due will be deposited to accounts today as well; Existing accounts will receive a balance statement in the next 1-2 business days.

Just a few questions
Is the interest returned after the first month or your investment gains interest that's compounded month i.e. My 25M deposit gains interest per month for as long as I Leave it invested?
How can you guarantee a return, is taking a loss possible i.e. One quarter shows a non profit or loss
Why are shares not available like a publically traded company?
Will this end up like most investment gigs or do you have a guarentee of some sort?

1.)Interest is paid monthly directly into your account balance so yes, it is compounded on the new balance. You can refer to post #3 for details about how interest is compounded.
2.)As I've stated, there is risk inherent in any investment, especially a startup such as this. If you feel you cannot afford that sort of risk, I encourage you to look into lower yield, lower risk investments. This company is inherently different from a standard publicly traded company: You are not investing in shares of the company, you are holding an account with us to see a specific percentage return on your money each month, like a bank. Quarterly profit will only come into play in the event of repeated, irreparable losses that jeopardize the profitability of the fund. Fortunately, this does not seem likely, as weekly returns are looking very good.
3.) As for guarantees, in the event of an irreparable loss where the investment fund and assets are not enough to insure all accounts, I will personally cover the difference to maximum extent that I can.

Hi Atima, thanks for trolling on the thread! If you'd like to read my posts above you should get a good picture of what I'm doing. If you don't think the risk is appropriate for you, then I would suggest investing elsewhere. In regards to your concern about the sums which I am accepting, I don't feel the need to overextend myself; I'd rather not lose billions of ISK that I can't replace on a startup. I prefer to build trust and experience over time before delving into larger scale operations.

Atima, it seems to be a new way to raise money. Post in the sell forum, claim its an actual product and hope no one from MD notices in order to move it to somewhere where people are slightly more critical and less stupid (hey ! I said less, not 'are not stupid')
If this guy can get 10 people in a day 'investing' then expand and allow people to double their 'investment' a day later, that could be anywhere from 250mil to 500mil raised by a throwaway alt.
Do this all month, you're looking at near enough to 10-15bn in a month which isn't too shabby a return.
You'd also be surprised at the number of people that are completely suckered in by these scams. Not many people read MD, and the rest are surprisingly trusting.

This appears to be similar to the approach of Phaser Inc.: continue to spam Local when flying around, rather than attempting to raise funding in a scrutinized offering. At least their spam is the low-volume flavour.

Hi guys, I appreciate your cynicism, but I'm afraid you have a few things wrong. Number one, this is not my alt. I use my alt for gathering market data and managing market orders. As for your accusations that this is a ponzi scheme, it saddens me to see that there is no trust within this community, even when attempting to gain just a small amount, handling small sums of money. Is there anything I could do to assuage your fears?

Terminate the investment now, cash out everyone's account and offer people the chance to walk with their money and see that the 22% profits you offered weren't just made up. Then offer a new venture capital plan, putting up your profits from this one as collateral with a third party. Once all the money is accounted for, people will be more trusting.

I couldn't immediately cash out every single investor as most of the money is in solid assets being traded. However, you do pose an interesting idea: Perhaps cashing out accounts and reinvesting to demonstrate the viability of this investment at some point would boost consumer confidence. I don't think this is quite large enough to warrant a third party service though.

If you are legit, then its sad that you really don't get it, as such you come across as a bit of an idiot.

After speaking to Albert Doyle ingame I have agreed to hold 2 billion isk worth of blueprints as collateral. I have also recieved 3 API keys for his 3 accounts. He has a total of around 60 million skill points.
I will cover this offering up to 2billion of investments.
He also explained to me his methods and it is feasable.

First order of business, account statements have been sent out for June; if you haven't received yours, please contact me immediately and I will reissue.
Second, figures on net profit for June are starting to materialize, and look like upwards of 40%. Until assets from June have completely cycled through, I won't have an exact figure, but it's definitely on the positive side of 40%. I'd like to remind all of my investors that they may withdraw up to 20% of their account balance at any time without incurring the first-month withdrawal penalty outlined above should they feel the need for a cash infusion. However, obviously, any funds withdrawn will not be eligible to earn interest in that month.
And third, I think you may have the wrong thread Ms. McGinnity. :)

Hi everyone, and thank you for your continued support of Republic of Awesome Investments! Profits are once again looking good up to Q2 July. Returns are awesome as usual, and already approaching the 40% mark for July.
Profits for the previous month were just stellar, estimated at just a hair over 39%, after only a little over a week's operation.
Now, I'm looking for a little feedback here. I've noticed some mistrust here about just how I conduct my business. I'd like to put this to rest. I've been toying with the idea of cashing out all accounts at the end of the month and allowing reinvestment at a flat 20% for all accounts. Perhaps offering a percentage bonus for the following month for those who immediately reinvest (after everyone has confirmed payout, of course). Would this boost confidence for you? Good idea? Bad Idea? Other ideas?

Oh come now, my alt is a very attractive lady of the female persuasion, and I wouldn't be caught dead in those colors.
I do have an internal spreadsheet system where I keep track of accounts, profits, losses, prices, etc. I audit them every so often to make sure everything is correct.
Also, I have a chat channel now: ROA-INV. I'm not on all the time, but if you can catch me while I am, feel free to shoot me questions. Also, feel free to discuss the company with other investors who might be on (that's up to them of course).

Well, it's official, Republic of Awesome investments is now a billion ISK company (in assets)! Things are looking good for July, I'm expecting bigger gains this month due asset diversification. I expect further growth in the 1-2 month timescale as I'll likely be opening a new trade route--depending on how much time I have. Just wanted to let everyone know how their investment is doing.

Just a quick update and some big news below: ROA Investments is now valued at over 1.5B ISK!
Attention current and potential investors: I will be executing a total reinvestment of funds at the end of the month, please read this thread and your eve-mail to stay updated. In order to document the profitability of this venture, I'll be cashing everyone out at the end of the month, along with any interest due. This also gives me the opportunity to adjust interest rates slightly downward, to 17% for all levels of investment to account for slower growth projections for August and long-term stability (I've started to completely fill out my trade routes, so there is expected to be less expansion). As soon as everyone has confirmed receipt of their account balances and interest, I'll be accepting immediate reinvestment at a new investment cap of 60 million ISK. (This so my investors from the previous month will still effectively get their interest compounded, as nobody earned more than about 12m in interest yet). This means that, at full investment, you'll still be yielding over 10 million ISK your first month of investment, and over 150% in 6 months. In that this is turning into a long-term venture (at least 6 months, likely), I hope this is agreeable, as 22% compounding monthly is unsustainable over that period of time. I'm more than happy to discuss it if anyone has questions or concerns.
Disclaimer: It is entirely possible that interest rates could be adjusted again if the market considerably slows or I have less time for trading in the coming months. Given current profit figures, though, I think it's a reasonable projection to say that 17% will be fine for at least 6 months. However, In the event of an interest rate adjustment, each investor will be paid a dividend of 5 million ISK straight to their wallet.
