Did everyone just go ****ing nuts over what is basically nothing..? Some guys have an informal chat in a newsletter, deliberately exaggerated (go watch Wall Street) and this is the reaction? I'm glad CCP are paying attention to the world around them, and thinking how they can improve, change or do whatever they want with their game and universe. Better this than uninterested stagnation.
Going after people IRL, huge incredible emo outbursts (omg my account omg i quit i quit) usually leave me chuckling, but this time, it's just sad.
Don't like, don't play. Good riddance.... 250 page threads of wrist slashing emo is just crazy.

No, just regular dude.
Don't care who it is, this kind of stuff is just insane, and once people calm the **** down, they'll realise it too. The actual debate is being totally, totally overshadowed by this ridiculous emo bull****. That's the real shame.

We live in interesting times; in fact CCP is the kind of company that if things get repetitive we instinctively crank it up a notch. That, we certainly have done this week. First of we have Incarna, an amazing technological and artistic achievement. A vision from years ago realized to a point that no one could have imaged but a few months ago. It rolls out without a hitch, is in some cases faster than what we had before, this is the pinnacle of professional achievement. For all the noise in the channel we should all stand proud, years from now this is what people will remember.
But we have done more, not only have we redefined the production quality one can apply to virtual worlds with the beautiful Incarna but we have also defined what it really means to make virtual reality more meaningful than real life when it comes to launching our new virtual goods currency, Aurum.
Naturally, we have caught the attention of the world. Only a few weeks ago we revealed more information about DUST 514 and now we have done it again by committing to our core purpose as a company by redefining assumptions. After 40 hours we have already sold 52 monocles, generating more revenue than any of the other items in the store.
This we have done after months of research by a group of highly competent professionals, soliciting input and perspective from thought leaders and experts in and around our industry. We have communicated our intention here internally in very wide circles through the Virtual Economy Summit presentation at the GSM, our Fearless newsletter, sprint reviews, email lists and multiple other channels. This should not come as a surprise to anyone.
Currently we are seeing _very predictable feedback_ on what we are doing. Having the perspective of having done this for a decade, I can tell you that this is one of the moments where we look at what our players do and less of what they say. Innovation takes time to set in and the predictable reaction is always to resist change.
We went out with a decisive strategy on pricing and we will stay the course and not flip flop around or knee jerk react to the predictable. That is not saying nothing will change, on the contrary, in fact we know that success in this space is through learning and adapting to _what is actually happening_ and new knowledge gained in addition to what we knew before and expected.
All that said, I couldnGÇÖt be prouder of what we have accomplished as a company, changing the world is hard and we are doing it as so many times before! Stay the course, we have done this many times before.

Idiot. You have an informal chat over e-mails, not over an internal newsletter put in print and handed out to the company to put everyone in line with company policy, understand?
try working for a company for once to understand how this works.

You see how stupid it is, when someone saying "this is bull****" is automatically assumed to be an alt of whoever? Doesn't that even ring one little alarm bell? I ****ing, ****ing hate crowd mentality, and lots of people going stark, raving, ballistically insane over nothing puts me on edge.

Can we get the FULL ORIGINAL source, rather than the typed out ramblings of someone on the topic?
I want to see the link of the "leaked document" where they really plan to sell in-game ships.
Reading all these ramblings aren't convincing me. Even if they do PLAN to do that, we just say no, don't do it CCP. I'm sure they'll listen. If they don't, THEN we unsub. Not unsub over something that may not even happen.

I think most people are just frustrated from seeing greed destroy everything around them. There's two sides to every story though. CCP has come up to a point where they can no longer grow with their current business strategy. They can either stay a medium sized software company that delivers a medium sized MMO and keep an average sized player base and hope that it keeps being appealing for the years to come. Sooner or later they will reach the limit of their innovative strength and eve will stagnate and become smaller like it happened to various other MMOs before it.
Alternatively, CCP can adopt a new business strategy and aim higher. A lot higher. What this means is radical change to the eve universe over a period of time and eventually investing in other project and joining with other companies to reach a bigger audience => create more money.
Either of these scenarios spells a poor future for eve online. Hey don't feel bad even wow is starting to decline in popularity. Nothing is eternal. We've had a good run. Now we either accept the changes or move on to something else. But not everyone will do that quietly. We are now at the beginning of the end.

We already said "don't do it, CCP". And they promised not to. Now we find that they are talking about what items, when, and how they can implement it without us "crucifying" them. That's betrayal. It's pure, outright dishonesty. It's lying to us, Again.
Well, I have my metaphorical hammer and nails, and I think it's about time we gave them that verbal lashing. And then we should unsubscribe.

And are the supposed ships we say no to already for sale in the Noble Exchange store? No.
How can they do something that they haven't done? That doesn't make sense. They're only talking about it. And are you sure they're talking about it? Have you seen the original document? Please link it for me so that I can make an informed judgement.

Considering how you replied to me, I don't think I'm the one whose sentences are "fail on more than a few levels".
Seeing as people cannot link me the original document, I'm starting to think people just don't want to admit they're wrong, and just come up with nonsense as a response.

Really good example of what I'm talking about.
If these are the "core" players that eve has, I hope that they all quit. Instead of coming up with coherent reasonings and constructive criticism, they resort to name-calling, and attack anyone who is trying to find the truth. And if you disagree with them, we are automatically devs in disguise and drug users.
CCP should consider this. Make way for the new casual players. Because if these are what the "core" players are about, I don't want them in the game. Good riddance.
