Edited by: Wild Rho on 20/02/2005 14:51:53 ok basically this is to make a more useful version of the current lp system.
Each Agent has their own personal "store" of named faction items that they offer for sale based on their Quality, Level, Division and Corp/Faction (and maybe some slightly random items they have for a bit of variety).
The only way to buy these items is through earning lps with the agent and using them as a form of currency to purchase the items. The better the item the more lps you need to save.
To open the market you could do it through the agent dialogue (i.e somthing like "What do you have?"). A window then opens showing how many lps you have, items for sale and the amount of lps each one costs. The ones you can afford can be displayed as normal and the ones you can't afford yet are greyed out.
As well as buying things from agents you could also sell things to them in exhcange for more lp. Each agent also would have a list of items they would be willing to take in exchange for lp, such as npc tags, drugs, certain hard to get trade items and so on. Again, this could be handled in the same way as the buying window. You open the window through the agent dialogue and are presented with a list of items the agent is looking for along with how much lp you will gain from "selling" it to him.
Overall this can create a second market (a black market if you will) between players and agent runners. The fact you can sell rare items to gain lp means there are more ways to access the market without running a hundred missions with an agent just to obtain a single item you are looking for.

Edited by: ArcticFox on 20/02/2005 18:48:02 You know agents already offer faction and named items as LP rewards, you just have to wait for the right offer. It seems this suggestion would just mean a change in the format of this system (which I think makes more sense where it is now, but that's just a personal opinion).
EDIT: Sorry, skimmed that way too fast, I like the idea of selling tags and certain items to agents for LP, but it shouldn't be too much, otherwise uber-rich people will just be able to buy the LP offers they want (essentially) from any agent by paying for enough tags. What I mean is, if you can get enough LP for a faction battleship just by selling your agent tags, then the total cost in isk of the number of tags required to get that amount of LP should be two or three times the cost of buying the faction battleship from another player directly (obviously CCP can't directly control this, but they could make the LP rewards for tags sufficiently small to ensure this). ----------------------------------

Maybe not a store to purchase things... but an idea what certain items might cost in LPs.
While I don't directly want to know the offers that might come up, I would like to know the ballpark for, say, a faction frigate BPC so I can slow down when it gets to that point and not overshoot so far I miss the offer entirely.
Or perhaps let us see what things are/have been available, but not what is available beyond our current LP. In faction materials only, not other 'LP' offer stuff that's non-faction.
Eh *shrug* It's a good idea, but doable?

check the factions page to see all their stuff that they can offer.
not a bad idea anyways.
it would be nice to have super stores like 5 big ones in eve, were you have to be there and buy rare items on auctions or so. like a black market sthg similar but huge. id love to see a get together place like that in eve. a station that you can lvie and move about in it. even if its only one station in all of eve.
make it that capital of the universe.

Edited by: Oberon Oblique on 22/02/2005 16:24:27 Total agree with the concept.
I'd break it down like this...
1) Each Corp has their own LP market. You can trade your corp specific LP's (or LP's + requested items) in for goodies.
2) Goodies would fall in 2 catagories:
a) General or Common: LP for goodies with a full list always visible to everyone.
b) Special- These would be hidden until you reached a certain faction+ corp standing. You would then be offered a mission or chain of missions to "unlock" it. Once unlocked it can be called in like the common ones (then you would have to unlock it again or mabey its only 1 time?)
Additional ideas: The "special" requirements could get real fun, mabey you need wipe out a rat complex or could even require more than one person with the same or better standing.
There could also be a Faction LP shop where you could spend any LP's from corps within those factions.
