You need to pay attention.
The actual CEO has said, "I don't give a **** about these whiny ****s ranting in the forum. Numbers talk, bull**** walks"
And Look 50K online.
The tribe has spoken.

It's the weekend and all anyone is talking about is this stuff.
CCP need to give an official response but don't want to, if this was any other company things would be straightened out by now!

Edited by: Sakura Ren Fenikkusu on 25/06/2011 21:05:03 I don't think we will see any more of a response until they investigate everything thoroughly and hold meetings on possible solutions to the problems presented. This will probably mean beginning to middle of next week before we see a response with solutions.
At the very least, Public Relations is looking at everything with a fine-toothed comb as to not further angry the beast.

It's a corporation. Any official response will take time. Think of how long it took them to develop this strategy, however misguided you feel it is. I'm sure they have investors to answer to so anything affecting revenue in this way will mean a lot more goes into a response than might go into this exchange:
"Mommy, can I have a cookie?" "No, honey. Not right now." "WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" "Ok, just shut up; here's a cookie."
That may work on some folks but it's childish and ineffective. Unfortunately, that's what a lot of this boils down to. Give them time to do it the way it has to be done.
More importantly (and I'm not pointing to any one particular individual), stop acting like a bunch of 3 year olds. It's not just un-productive, it's counter-productive.

it seems to indicate pretty strongly that they're unwilling to take nonvanity items off the table, they dont want to written anywhere that they commited permanently to it, i think they're just waiting for the rage to calm down, then they're gonna say "since aurum items can be bought and sold on the market for isk, we feel that it does not effect gameplay to sell ships/ammo/towers for aurum, since players already buy plex to sell for isk and can buy plex on the market, we feel this is no diferent blah blah blah"

You know as well as I do that the official response will be that the logs show nothing.

Well, that is really a part of the problem.
In the past the said that "non-vanity items that adversely affect gameplay would not be released". Some people took this as meaning that Non-Vanity items would never be introduced to Eve-Online.
The internal newsletter presents "exaggerated" view/opinions regarding the issue of Non-Vanity Micro-Transactions. The example they gave was for ship/ammunition to be available for Aurum; however, in CCP posts on the forums, they stated that ship would be sold for Aurum in the form of BPOs/BPCs or as a trade in. (Ex. Scorpion + 1k AUR = Painted Scorpion) This way the mineral market would not be adversely affected.
As far as faction standings are concerned- also mentioned in the newsletter -the reasoning is that AUR would only be used as a substitute for time, not ISK, when buying such items. For example, one could spend $15 for a month of subscription fees, farming missions for faction standings. Or they could pay $15 and get equivalent faction standings to grinding for a month, without the additional LP/ISK reward from farmining those missions.
The same thing would apply Skill Points, especially with Learning Skills removed. A person could either spend 3-months worth of gametime training a skill, or pay $45 for an equivalent amount of skill points. (with or without implants) They would still have to choose which skills to put those points in, and obtain the skill books to inject those skills. In a sense, this gives Non-AURUM players the advantage, as they will have experience flying the ship, while a AURUM player will not.
That's my view anyway.

one problem:
Originally by: CCP Zinfandel Right now it can only sell one kind of thing at a time (no bundles) and can only accept one payment at a time (Aurum.)
It can't do trade-in's. It can't do BPCs. It can't sell anything that requires a user interface to use. It can't highlight an item on sale (they will look like the non sale items.) It can't sort/filter and only show you one kind of item. But it will get better.
And they were going to put the Ishukone scorpion live anyway.
To be fair, I expect that the NEX store will be something that is actually iterated upon. I wonder why I'm worried? ______ Tippia's analysis Meissa's blog |
