Given the recent course of events, and ever-growing distrust between the Dev's and the consumer base, I was hoping CCP staff might consider jumping back into the "We will answer all your questions" thread.
We are well aware now that MT is not going anywhere, not to expect upper management intervention, and that we will likely see more along those lines.
In the spirit of resuming a constructive dialogue between the two parties, would you mind doing us all a favor and consider prioritizing the completion of that questions survey? I think many people feel ignored or not heard, and some targeted responses to specific questions would go a long way towards demonstrating that despite ideological differences about what eve should be and include, CCP's development team does still value player input and is willing to make good on its commitments going forward.
CCP may not be willing/able to publicly commit to a restriction on EvE's business model, but the commitment to get us those answers is one you can still follow through with right now.
I say now is the time to rip the band-aid off and be truly fearless, we've already had the most controversial question answered for us, its sad that it took leaks, outrage, and forced commentary to get to the bottom of that issue. Please show us the courtesy of being direct and preemptive about addressing the rest of the questions, in a timely fashion as promised.

EVE's dead, long live EVE.
All that's left is Chribba discontinuing his services. He doesn't have to biomass, just put everything on hold.

Originally by: Anonymous CCP Employee CCP does not take criticism well and often ignores retrospectives. Criticism is considered to be a negative attitude and is severely frowned upon. A lot of effort goes into maintaining a good morale with a lot of internal PR. After all itĘs cheaper to print posters than pay an average salary to employees.
Several years now CCP has predicated insane subscriber goals that cannot be met. Naturally this is met with scepticism by the employees but it falls on deaf ears. The result is that the company is suffering because we cannot sustain the development of EVE, DUST and WOD. EVE is not creating enough revenue which means that solutions are sought, solutions that CCP was vehemently against a few years ago.

Well, than they owe it to us to simply say that. They promised answers, we took the time to ask the questions, there's plenty of CCP attention to the forums at the moment (regardless of their limited, strategic, response) so now's a great time to prove everyone wrong and show interest in sharing their plans with the customers.
It's exactly the inattention to threads like that one that sowed the seeds of distrust to begin with, setting the stage for the Incarna blow up. Resuming work on it could go a long way towards making the community feel valued again.

They probably want to see the accounts actually expiring before deciding anything, as evidenced by Hilmar's mail. So for now we just need to keep posting and getting the word around. Once the subs start running out of time and their income numbers start dropping we will see some action.
So prepare for something longer than a couple of weeks and keep these threads up and running. |
