For the love of god people don't fool yourself into thinking the CSM was/is or will ever be more than a CCP PR stunt.
Seriously.
Kinda like ISD being helpful, when it's actually just free labor for them.

Even if CCP were to "call" the CSM to Iceland, some of them may have more important things that can't be simply dropped. Like their jobs. CSM isn't a paying position, y'know, although the travel package is nice.
If a sudden "emergency" summit were planned, I don't think it'd be for at least a few days to two weeks so that the delegates can arrange things with family/employers. Outside of a medical emergency, you can't just ditch out on your job.(Note: Pann, I hope your daughter is doing well.)

I doubt this rumor very seriously.
Like has been said above, for this to be true:
1. It would mean that the CSM is anything more than an ongoing PR gimmick for CCP. 2. That CCP cares what its current customer base wants, thinks, or demands. 3. That anyone of consequence from CCP is actually WORKING on the weekend and paying attention to this and/or us. 4. That the CSM isn't already bought and paid for with "Free Stuffs" from CCP. 5. That the CSM, whether working directly on behalf of CCP's interests or not, actually CARES about the community as a whole.
Obviously, I am not convinced of any of these things, and highly doubt most of them.

I would hope the CSM'ers would decline the invitation as well. The CSM are people that want to help, but CCP refuses to utilize them. The CSM wanted to help repair the Zulupants dev blog and they wanted CCP to directly address the primary concern of the players, but none of this happened.
I respect the desire of the CSM to help Eve, but I also feel sorry for them. They've been put in the unfortunate position of being PR figureheads that are just as sidelined as the rest of us. They, and we, deserve better.

I'm sure they have a lot of anger to get rid of after being declared terrorists by the UK.
Actually, there's a slight problem with that. In that Iceland doesn't have an army, at all. They have a "navy" in the sense that they own a couple of small lightly armed frigates for cargo inspections on ship coming in, but that's about it.
The last military presence on the island was the US army base in the north, which has been mothballed.

This would imply that CCP actually thinks the CSM is worth while. Excuse me while I have a good old laugh......
Nice joke there. Thankyou.

Seems plausible. How else are they going to receive the coaching to ômanage player expectationsö while in a semi controlled environment? All fully covered by an NDA, of course.
In the end, who cares? CCP treats the CSM just about the same way they treat the rest of the players. ItÆll all blow over, right? It doesnÆt matter what the players say. It matters what the players do. Unless people do something, CCP will just wait to let things cool a bit and then continue to do what they want. IsnÆt that what HilmarÆs letter laid out?

well ccp can talk to CSM all they want, but unless ccp takes real actions to correct their mistakes theyr going to loose.
After all trade hub riots are not lead by CSM, they spring up as spontanious answer to ccps Up your blogs.
