I¦m sure there are a gazillion of possible vanity items which CCP could introduce to the game and players would gladly buy (if reasonably priced). If we give them enough ideas they might recognize that they don¦t really need non-vanity items to milk their golden geese for additional cash.
I will add each idea to the list here:
- Various furniture or accessories for your Captain¦s Quarters
- Exclusive custom Ship models that would replace the standard ship models
- Hats
- Posters for your walls that you can add your own jpeg to
- foot + bottom + top clothes = less than 3,500 aur, so you can fully dress a toon with a single PLEX
- Pitchforks
- Torches
- Protest Signs
- Cats
- Ponies

Why?
Micro transaction is not "the way of the future" its just cynical business model for companies that believe their content is not deep enough to keep the subscription numbers up. CCP can keep those subs going they just need to keep working on Eve and actually iterate all their promised content. They're is tons and tons half finished bits that could be developed in to powerful features. They just don't want to put the work in.

Very easy: foot + bottom + top clothes = less than 3,500 aur, so you can fully dress a toon with a single PLEX. Got an alt? Spend a second PLEX if you feel like.
That would had made a helluvah sense, but luckily CCP was there to prevent good sense from winning the day.

I'm a bit more Barbies-in-spacey than that... I already had chosen what items to buy for each of my 3 girls when they were available, just was wishing to get some closed high heels in addition to the open ones.

A variety of sunglasses or even plain eyeglasses (for people that make avatars that resemble themselves)would be cool. Of course if CCP prices them similarly to the current item inventory, I wouldn't ever buy them anyways.
CCP, I suggest taking a few notes from Valve's wild success with vanity items in TF2. While you're at it, please go familiarize yourselves with "The Laffer Curve".

Yepp- that would definately work for me and I'd be very happy to pay for a new dimension to the spaceship game.......even a few weapons I could use in the Station to ermmm "defend" myself would be nice.
I perceive that what is behind THAT door should be a completely different and separate sandbox (and economy) which will hopefully stand on its own merit. Players can literally choose to step into that environment or not. If its good, hard and sharp like the spaceship game- then the tills will be ringing and good luck to CCP.
However, trying to link game economies seems impossible....lol just ask the Countries who are trying to manage the Euro!!!

Why they dont add corp recruitment adds on log on screeen for aurum, or idk custom repaint of CQ or something like that?
In my humble opinion they have large array of choice from vanity items, there is really no need for non-vanity items right now, and if they ever(hope not but still) implement them that could be implemented in such a way it does not destroy the eve-s uniqueness and economy.
Btw, my "feeling" is that monocles and all that crp will be destructable in the future.

That's actually one thing that bothers me a great deal about this AUR crap. What damn sense does it make for an entire universal economy to use a special currency just for fancy clothes?? None! It's not necessary either.
CCP could have avoided this whole thing by simply not making AUR. Want your virtual jeans to be worth $1000 real USD? Make it cost a couple trillion ISK. People can then go buy $1000 worth of plex to buy their ISK to buy their jeans. The whole purpose of AUR is not anything about storyline or making the game better, but to artificially inflate the cost of PLEX on the EvE market by making it disappear.
When a game company stops caring about storyline anymore...it's a very bad sign. AUR makes no sense except as an IRL money sink.

I can see a carrier or a dread in my hangar, which are huge, supposed to house 1000s of crew, and as the owner and captain, I'd expect I could play a full golf course in my room in a ship like that... why on earth I would go sit around in a tiny cramped room in the station?

No, no fucking vanity items, CCP is double charging us for the only content in an otherwise content free expansion (sorry, I mean MT display case expansion) so they can pay to develop WoD and DUST 514. They are remodeling one fucking ship a year, yet say they can release new clothes and models weekly. I want them to develop the game, not look for more ways to milk this cash cow
