Microsoft and Electronic Arts are also buying CCP. Oh, and McDonald's. This all from the similar kind of sources you are citing.

As far as I'm aware, CCP doesn't have any shares on the market to buy. --------------------------------------------- Somewhere beyond happyness and sadness, I need to calculate what creates my own madness o/

You saw it here first. ...Then when you stopped to think about it. All you really said was Lalala. |

I'm buying CCP too. I promise to make sure that engine trails and cyno effects will be #1 on my agenda.

Just fyi you they don't have to be public to be shares, and to do not be in the stock market makes a company safe from hostile acquisitions. That does not make the private (internal) share emission less valuable.

Don't worry, with Sony in charge you will not have your bots hammered, neither your metagaming forbidden. You will be the new king of Eve. GL with that.

They are not a public company, I checked, the only way they must be getting funding is through private investors or loan agreements for that matter.

Buyout... nice dodge. 51% of shares does not constitute a buyout... a buyout would be 100%. But with 51% guess who will be the overlord? Not CCP.

Quote: Neither CCP nor SOE are in such discussions, nor have such discussions occurred. CCP is an independent company and has not been purchased by SOE.
So wait... we're supposed to believe that...
1. Fallout is not high enough up the food chain to be able confirm/deny plans for non-vanity MT within the game.
2. Fallout is high enough up the food chain to be able to confirm/deny business decisions external to the game. The kind of business decisions that are usually kept extremely secret, even (especially) from lower-level employees.

Being publicly traded is not required to sell a share of a company.

I suspect they are making some money off EVE Online.
