Posting with an alt as this is a dumb idea I've been throwing around.
Vagabond setup like the gistii b-type jag. AB/Gistii large/NOS/shield (or neut and cap booster (much lower EHP))
Running with crystals and siege links it should have an insanely large engagement profile.
Ideas? (Yes I know, canes make me cry with their dual medium neuts)
Just looking for different active shield setups that are not seen often.

An active stabber fleet issue can be dual propfit, use a combination of AB speed/small sig to mitigate damage and in general is better suited to close range combat. Your same concept, but better.

You really just skipped right over the whole shield thing didn't you?
I run with HG crystals, seige links + skirmish links + siege mindlink boosting tengu so when I ask for input regarding ACTIVE SHIELD SHIPS it kinda means I am asking for input regarding shield tanking ships and non-conventional setups.
But you're right, post another armor fit you tool. 
**And if you did train reading comprehension you need to file a petition as it isn't working for you.

Vagabond IMO doesn't have enough mid slots to active shield tank. Could perhaps work as an armor tank. The cynabal has 5 mid slots, however the stats on the brawler fit are quite sad. The Stabber Fleet Issue makes a MICH better brawler than vaga or munnin

Could someone clarify 'brawler'?
I thought it meant short range and just matching defense/offense with your opponent to overpower them, but that doesn't seem to fit with the tone of the thread.

Just use a Cyclone, the brawler stats are pathetic on the Vaga/Cynabal.

* SFI is smaller. About 20% smaller once you factor the shield rigs on the Vaga.
* SFI has a massive tracking bonus. Believe it or not, but with the bigger 425s you'll have on a Vagabond, you'll have tracking problems.
* Vaga with all the pimped stuff is maybe a ~700 DPS tank. Maybe. You'd need a really pricy shield booster to get any more than than. You'll have tracking issues out the ass, a single prop, a stupid fit to lose when you die.
* SFI can dualprop, so that removes the giant weakness of flying an AB/2pt ship has to kiting ships.

Damige used to use an active tanked Vaga though I'm not sufficiently familiar with the ship to be certain what benefits it offers over the cookie cutter, particularly given you're looking at using a large booster and therefore not making any saving in fitting (not that I'm suggesting that a smaller booster would be better, just that if you'd started from the point of a medium I'd immediately assume that the fittings saving would be valuable).
The difficulty would be that the Vaga's cap is not vast, particularly when pulsing the MWD regularly to minimise incoming damage - although I suppose that your aim is to avoid that, using the booster to compensate.

concept is nice. Its not gonna be cheap to get great performance tho. Also DONT sit still with an arty mach on grid unless u wanna get alpha'd :)
Its not great but with a boosting Tengu giving shield bonus with seige mindlink + ab speed skirmish link ur looking at 844 dps tank / 1084 overloaded or 1089/1400 with strong blue pill. usual stats... 515 dps with lvl 5 auto spec. 1107m/s 1474 overloaded. 128m sig.

Give the obviously high price tag of running with such a setup is the only reason to go with a Vagabond over a Sleipnir for the surprise effect? Because as it is I can only see pros in favour of the Sleip. More mid slots, more damage, more tank...
