A more suitable way of switching roles. Being confined to the same skill points can sometimes p*ss off new players, others are fine sitting in there lvl 5 hulk in 1.0. I thought the other day, wouldnt it be nice if i could put all my skills from the sub sytstem catagory into my poorly, low armor skills? That would help me become better in pvp.Never the less a sort introduction to the skills and how they transfer is exactly like your extra learning skill points you put into (skill here.
Your flying about in your (ship here) and look into your skill queue. 14 days left... *facepalm*. You go into your character sheet and open up planet management and right click the skill you want to take skill points from. Then it promps you with a yes or no. It puts the skill points into where you normally see the unallocated skill points and you then proceed to add it to the 14 day skill. I feel like this process cant happen on a large multiple scale so put it roughly down to liike a jump clone time frame.
Avalible feed back would be helpful and i dont use a hulk anymore in 0.0 so i wanted to use those skill points twards my planet management :3

This is something that some other mmo's have going for them and it definitely keeps players old players in, and keeps new players interested because they can try new things. ALSO new players can have a better chance to gain an advantage over the old players which tend to hold superiority atm due to things like better core skills. If skillpoint moving was allowed it'd definitely keep me playing until the game dies (if that ever happens)
Though if you could change them too often it WOULD screw some mechanics up, maybe limited to an annual or dual annual skillpoint remap? -----

denied.
You could remove remaps then because everybody would just train perc/wp stuff and reassign SP into supportskills etc...

Kind of like the remaping of attributes that would suck because it would be only 1 or 2 skills but if you mean like all together yea somewhat like, you take all the skills you dont need anymore and then put them into the skill(s) you want that would count as 1 that might work

Perhaps add a pentaly, to this feature.
Say you give up a lv5 skill that took 100,000 Skill points, instead of gaining those 100,000 points back, you gain a percent like 3/4 of those points,
Would allow people to give up skills that are not needed but not allow them to just continously swap around to a needed role without some kind of loss |

how about just plain no? think about how this would work in real life? I'm a doctor, oh look, now I'm a computer scientist with some engineer on the side.

no, the only way this would ever work is with severe consequence. the only way i could ever say it would work is if u lost 50% of the Skill points your reassigning.

The reason why i say this is i recently went to null/wormhole and i no longer use a tengu so i find my sub system skillpoints worthless :/ you say a tengu is great for wormholes i know but i hate the fact of losing it when i just got it or havnt paied for it... there always primaried

I really like and have always liked the idea of SP refunding with a severe penalty. This would be good for lots of reasons.
SP sink, since sp would be taken out of game. Would give a chance to clear unwanted skills or skillpoints. Would allow the flexibility you describe in the OP but not with all the game breaking freedom outlined there.
As for the realism of all this, remember that here in EVE we are actually injecting skills into our brains cybernetically. The idea of I'm a doctor today, now I am a computer scientist is not as strange as it sounds under these conditions, especially if there is degradation during the process.
Big +1 for 1/2 sp refunds
