Ok, so I've heard all the complaints about how there will be paying for SP/faction standings, etc. Can someone show me 100% credible set in stone proof? I've seen the "we don't care about what our players say" newsletter, but I don't recall anything about P2W gameplay IN EVE, only in DUST (which is also stupid, and will probably kill the game before it's released)
Either show me the proof, with links and quotes, or everybody shut the **** up and deal with the vanity items, they aren't a game killing addition.
Note, I'm not a CCP fanboy, if P2W ever shows its face in EVE I'm done.

We asked a very specific question, and got a copout.

Someone told me radioactivity is real, but I have not seen it.........
People in masse tend to revolt over illusions more often than not, look at the progress of the planet; im sure all the people in revolutions were all laywers and scientist who had clear facts, and the end result did not really end anywhere great; Can I call you SAL-9000?

Read them if you like. But remember that the newsletter is a bunch of bull and was never policy. Before posting about what Zulu has said read it all. Use your logic to come to a conclusion. Don't follow the crowd. Protestors are not always right. They are usually confused or crazy. Example: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Westboro_Baptist_Church If you still have a problem with what is going on. Know that the CSM is being flown in for a special meeting to clarify what is happening. It might be what people are worried about. And it might be nothing. Let time decide. Because i assure you. 3000 angry people out of 300k+ don't set policy because they whine and shoot a statue.

"Not all virtual purchases will focus on customization: some will simply be new items, ammunition, ships, etc."

I think you forgot to read the disclaimer where it says all of this is meant to garner discussion and none of it is CCP Policy.
Unless its the EVENEWS24 version where they edited that part out so they could cause a **** storm. You know. "for the good of EVE."

The fact that it's being discussed is pretty revolting.

Nope, that's what everything's on fire about. Faction standings, items, ammo. The bit you quoted - notice it's not from the "debate" part of the newsletter either, but from the "What will we be doing with MT in Incarna" section.

Edit: ok I'm slow...
It was downloaded so much the first few days that many hosts locked the file for using too much bandwidth. The EN24 link might be working again?
Others are mad based on a statement there saying ammo, ships, etc will be made available. People want a clear yes/no as to if that's still on the table. This whole thing is the result of so many unpopular changes (null nerf, cq, licenses...) in recent months. A vocal portion of the community feel like ccp has stopped caring. The part that is speculation is only the most recent complaint.

It was discussed because it's a business and any sane business would discuss whats becoming the new trend in their field.

So... after 95% of people on the forums (There's a thread with the statistic, it's real, I don't have the link) said they wouldo nly approve of cosmetic only microtransactions, they consider it a sane idea to discuss non-cosmetic MTs? That's pretty stupid in the business standpoint.

Yet.

Rather than just posting another blog saying "Oh wait, you guys have it all wrong. Our plans are X, Y, and Z. Sorry we took so long to clear this all up."
More and more everything looks like worst-case.
Banhammers, silence, and then empty text.
18 months we have waited for bugs to be fixed, old content to be looked at, 1000 papercuts, etc. This game was put on the back-burner and left to simmer. We waited, and then we got....
CCP Soundwave - I would like virtual goods sales in EVE. In fact, IĈd like to sell a lot more than vanity items.
WeĈre going to face an uphill struggle, and the reason many of us never talk about this publically is that weĈd be burned at the stake by the players.
After having been told there wouldn't be any MT in eve.
Oh sure, you can read that and think it's just a discussion, just a debate, nothing that leads them to decide to do non-vanity MT....
BUT WTF? They shouldn't have even had to have had a discussion. There is no debate, unless of course their plans for EVE are short-term and they're looking to get some quick cash out of it before they put it down like a diseased horse when they finish WoD.

Here is your proof... CCP ignored the multiple threadnoughts on the subject CSM asked them to address the issue even before Incarna Massively.com sent question to them and got no response
If they didnt want to do it then all they had to do is say "no we arent going to do it". Then the issue would be dead... no more protests.
...but they havent done that.
Ambulation... because spaceships don't have wallets. |

From: http://www.eveonline.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&bid=934
Quote: Therefore we have asked the CSM to join us in Iceland for an extraordinary meeting June 30th and July 1st to discuss the events of past week, to help us define and address the real underlying concerns, and to assist us in defining and iterating on our virtual goods strategy.
Quote: However, just to prove the point of the Fearless newsletter and give you a further understanding of what it is then there are no and never have been plans to sell "gold ammo" for Aurum. In Fearless people are arguing a point, which doesn't even have to be their view, they are debating an issue. This is another example of how information out of context is no information at all.
