Anyone even paying attention to them right now?

It shouldn't affect them at all, why would it?

Well in theory it would interfere with their station interaction, but then I spose it wouldn't be hard to workaround. Maybe that is CCP's reasoning behind making it mandatory though.

Knowing CCP, it might be. I definitely hadn't thought of it in that way. Though right now, 'load station environment' prevents too much bothering the botters.

Considering you can disable the CQ and change the background door picture to a blank .png I would think they are doing same as ever.
Seeing as they will be some of the only customers soon I expect they are thriving. ~~~

Edited by: Prince Kobol on 27/06/2011 17:46:29 The only way it might hurt some of them is if they are using low end system with multiple VM Ware instances. This is of course is due to the big jump in GPU requirements.
You will most likely find that a lot of Botters just use cheap low system with the graphics settings all on low and multiple instances of VM Ware to run their bots on 24/7

that doesnt reduce the CPU/GPU usage of the client, just doesnt load all the assets to RAM.

how does cpu/gpu usage have anything to do with a macroers efficiency. Or perhaps you are a genius and CCP's implementation of really unoptimised code is in fact a secret way to affect macroers, and we all get to enjoy the benefits of this as real players too.
You truly are a genius. ~~~

A good bot programmer codes scripting into his bot. I.e. edit 2 lines of script. Done. |

Well, what about the clear and present danger of total removal of the old station ui and complete integration with the CQ proof of concept? I mean, sure the bot could handle moving the character around the CQ to do the same functions... unless CCP finds a way to actively combat that.

I don't run a bot farm, but if I did, I would sure want to run as many as I could on one machine, why have the heavy overhead of hardware costs if you don't need it. Cost efficiency.
My faith in CCP will return SoonÖ We'll watch what you do not what you say.

You have the same UI (on the left side of the screen) when CQ is enabled, like we had before. You dont need to walk in stations to do anything.

Judging from the sometimes wrongdirectional warpholes, the reseting of the height angle at each stargate jump, or the absence of warpholes alltogether atm., or the fact that overview settings is actually for two different things, or the lack of individual graphics settings for CQ, or the miriads of other bugs I think about constantly, I don't think, it was CCP's intention to break Bots, no.
Since who can code a DXbuffer reading bot which executes client commandos, is smart enough to circumvent the delay.
It's more like another bug / not thought thru feature, which if enough people petition to, might get fixed sooner.
I dont blame anybody, this stuff happens. I mean, we could have seen it coming on singularity?
(Would be nice if CQ could be activated per station individually tho)
