Venue: The Sussex, Covent Garden.[MAP] Itinery: Same as always, meet fellow eve'ers, get drunk, do some silly dancing, laugh at the first person to be sick. If you've not been before come along, it's a good ***, everyone is a laugh. Even the ebil pirates. Be there or, erm well don't but you'll never be one of the cool kids unless you go. Iratus Caelestis	Posted - 2005.02.25 21:15:00 - [21] Got tons of ideas, probably drunk in half the pubs in Central London over the years :D I do need to get a better idea on numbers before I go to the next stage, the event in October had 80 people at its peak and clearly that's going to limit options somewhat but we always have the fallback of the Sports Bar again. I'll draw up a list though to give you guys some ideas though, if anyone has suggestions that'd be good as well.

At the moment it will be The Porterhouse but negotiations are ongoing to get the bar opened in the function room without forking out mullah :)

Monty Burns	Posted - 2005.03.15 14:17:00 - [52] Why not make it the Walkabout in Shephards Bush? 1 - It's open until 2am 2 - It's got live covers bands to rock on until close 3 - It's a flippin awesome night out (when your unable to get into the Redback) 4 - It's easy to get to (almost central) 5 - It's nice n big (unlike the shoe box in Covent Gdn) 6 - My new bird don't like rock music so she won't want to come along, meaning, I don't have to explain how geeky you all look j/k!! Down side: No "private" area but we could all meet upstairs. Just my 2pence and expect to be shot down in flames Darwin 4tw

They have a big room to the left of the bar where they could stick all us space cadets (the one where they used to show the world cup football games). Correct me if this is wrong - not been there for about 2 years. Maybe worth a visit beforehand. Plus 93ftEast (just opposite) is a bloody good club to go to afterwards. 3. Any weatherspoons pub as they are damned cheap I am going to do some more thinking about this, hmmm, maybe a good excuse to go out this weekend.

As far as venues go, I think it'd be better to choose somewhere with a bit of space and that isn't too loud -- Somewhere that serves food would be good for those of us coming straight from work, too, although it's probably not too important in the scheme of things.. Somewhere that will not be showing TV and have goon squads cheering every 5 minutes would also be appreciated. A lot of the larger pubs are usually happy to reserve an area for groups for free, if you guarantee a minimum attendance (eg. a dozen people, which shouldn't be a problem judging by responses so far?) Suggestions? Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese The Foundry (but only if you can reserve the downstairs vault, as otherwise it's a bit busy to find people) The Betsy Trotwood (again, only if you can reserve the cellar room) The Knights Templar is a very large city pub, you can usually reserve the area at the back for free if you're bringing a reasonable sized group. It's a Weatherspoons, unfortunately, but hey, it could be worse (ie. A walkabout), and at least that means it's cheap.

It's a shame as size wise, its perfect.

It's a nice pub, does your average pub beers (no hoegaarden )at average pub prices however it is does have a good atmosphere and is well located for everyone that will move on afterwards and really is a doddle to find. I've pulled a bit of a blinder and we have the entire basement bar reserved just for us from 7 till 11 and it will take up to 140 people if need be so we're all good to go. Now to get this thread a sticky and Kieron to send us some Quafe bearing devs.

As I say a lot of people will be moving on afterwards so I don't think it should be that much of an issue. If a few of you want me to ask for it to be open later though it won't be a problem.

Will Navidson Omnes We live within a couple of miles of the event so we may well be carrying on drinking at KCLSU night club(approx 10 mins shamble from Covent Garden)AFTER 11pm when The Sussex chucks us out. The night's called Collidescope and it plays indie music. The beers low quality, served in plastic glasses but most importantly cheap(for central London anyway) + the bouncers don't seem to check the IDs of the girls that come in, but that's a problem for the license holders.... Being a club it has a cover charge(ú6-8, less with student Cards) but then everywhere in London is at that time of night. I reserve the right to not go if I'm too sh1tfaced, so it's only a casual plan from my point of view. Saturday's shaping up to be a real laugh I can't wait to be able to talk to people I don't know about BattleShips without them looking at me like I shat in their shoes. Later DM

Some of it we sold for a tenner a bottle to FRICK and the rest we mixed with some weird green icelandic alcaholic drink to make Quafe Ultra. There was almost a fight between burn eden and frick but as they always do in the game , they ran away. I had a look for Chowdown but couldn't find him . To the ISD guy: shave you mono-brow plz. I should of done more of the mingling thing but was suffering pretty badly from the unplanned escalation of the night before. Had a look for your name tag but I must of missed ità though looking at the photos I think I borrowed an ash tray off you at some point. Mind like a cabbage, drink not working, having æthingsÆ shoved in my face by the Eve-Radio DJs and the realisation I had the equivalent global influence of Lichenstein in Eve made me a little subduedà. Though considering many of you ended up at the Equinox itÆs just as-well I remained in control of my faculties. Next time itÆs Absinthe, and bus-stop mountaineering all the way.
