I don't know if I would call them a "problem". I think "irrelevant" would be the most appropriate term.

Probably makes sense though since 0.0 is generally more neglected than empire.

Still, CSM says what they have, CCP ignores it completely and go on with their plans. So whats the point? They are tied with NDA on any future low blows from CCP.

Inflammatory post and a bit premature. This crisis (yes, to many it's a crisis) is exactly WHY we have a CSM. We will have to see how effective they are.
Can we please address the behavior and not the people? --------------------------------------------- My expectations aren't high enough to be overly disappointed. |

Did you even vote in the CSM elections? If not, then kindly STFU. Have you written to any of the members to tell them you're upset about an issue you want CCP to address? No?
The CSM was never intended as a "decision maker" to dictate policy to CCP. They act somewhat as a liaison between CCP and the Mob of Eve. CCP gives the CSM information to give to us or to approve for dissemination to the Mob. Similarly, the CSM takes information/praise/grievances/ideas and brings them to CCP.
We get to elect them. That's why CCP makes such a big deal out of the CSM elections. Whether or not CCP actually listens to the CSM is another issue entirely (and one of the grievances that the CSM may be addressing, we'll see).

Ineffective because CCP chooses to make them that way.
If I were a CSM, though, I would have made sure to get straight answers.

And you think CCP needs to ask the CSM on ideas what to do about MT? And CQ issues? All stuff we were reporting since it was on Duality, then Sisi, then TQ and they didn't give a crap. I hope i am wrong, but to me this looks just like buying time. We all wanna hear what CCP has to say on MT issue LIVE, not some devblog or copy/paste of chat 2 weeks later.

CSM = awesome, don't knock 'em... they have the players interests at heart... and have earned their positions... saying they're only interested in 0.0 is fine... high sec is ccp's baby... look at the last expansions... high sec buffs the lot of them.

Without forum posters, there would be no problem in the first place.

It used to be pretty much irrelevant although here they are just working as pr damage control for ccp and will help ccp ruin eve.
I think it would be better if CCP just answered "the question"
http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1541026
That was put to them multiple times instead of playing pr games with a "csm meeting."

Players gave them their votes so they represent us. They got a RL Quafe T shirt and we got MT. And it shows how flawed democracy really is. Votes of 2 imbeciles have more weight than 1 vote of a genius. Add marketing into the campaign and people vote for someone they dont really know crap about.

QFT We are now to believe an illusion wherein ccp doesn't know exactly what they will ultimately concede before this meeting ever starts.

With the beautiful phrase "transparency". Irony has it they have signed a NDA. And have not enough insight. And get bypassed on info. Yeah, CSM is useless, but that's by design. CCP never allowed them to be what thy were promised to be, what they could be. -

This situation is actually a pretty good test of just what the CSM adds to the EvE experience. Let's see what they can do before we judge? I know it's hard not to be cynical about it though.

There are SO many players in HS only that they could easily field a candidate or two and get them on the CSM. I for one voted for a non-0.0 candidate, nothing stops others from doing the same.
