Why was salvager range bonus reduced from 14kilometers back to 5 that makes noctis usless unless wrecks are abandoned or yours !

Make it at least 10km for T1 and 14km for T2 salvagers or make a skill that increases the salvaging range . Otherwise the noctis is simply too slow even with mwd to salvage wrecks since it must get as close ast 4.99 kilometers !

Sounds like it.......dont know what the tears are about I ran 6 tractors beams and was lucky to get a target lock and start sucking it towards you before one of the two salavagers had cycled off. it was nice 14 km but shrug .....it speed it up up how much? a second or two?

There's this really neat device that you can put on your noctis called a "tractor beam." See, using the "tractor beam" allows you to drag the wrecks right up next to you, for easy salvaging.
You should train for "tractor beams."

Edited by: UMBONGO Hirl on 28/06/2011 16:51:44 That makes NOCTIS a tractor not salvaging ship ! Besides tractoring only works if wrecks are yours :)

You're wasting your time as a griefer, which I assume is the case, as I can tractor for my main when they're in a fleet together.
Basically, if you want to make money in Eve, you're doing it wrong.

OMG, those nerd kids can't even read the Noctis bonus and figure by them selves how it works?

It is fun watching a ninja travel 40 clicks to your wreck only to have you tractor it back from him right before he gets into salvage range. It's even better when they cry.

As you say "back to...", it seems you did know how it worked and used it pre patch, which makes the thread make little sense besides tears.
Fit it like you fit it before the patch. Having a short salv range doesn't matter that much. It is even of some help, for those of us who loot at the same time as we salvage. At 5km - activate salvager - just after - "open cargo", right click - "select all" and drag to cargo bay - right before first salvaging cycle finishes.
One of the more annoying things is when the salvager 'goes off' too soon, and you leave a trail of containers behind, which are not longer tractored.
Maybe you aren't looting, but still, it wasn't "broken" before patch, so...

As much as i hate to admit it (as the range bonus bug was excellent), it made the noctis too quick doing its job. Tractor in 4 wrecks and activate the salvager when it was at 16km or so ended the cycle and dumped the can right next to you. Was too efficient :(
