Edited by: Tom Gerard on 28/06/2011 16:39:35 Let CCP destroy their game, it was never OUR game, it was always THEIR game.
The emotional connection to EVE was ignorance and wishful thinking.
You are not part of EVE, eve is a database you had fun playing with, and it is no longer compatible with all users.
STFU and find a new database or upgrade to the latest interpreter.

TL;DR version: No, you're wrong
Long Version: EVE Online isn't like other MMO's, the fact we're all on a single server, and just about everything in game is made by players, not to mention the extreme complexity of the game, has created a unique sandbox environment that relies more on the players than just about any other game. In other games if you had 15% of the user base ragequit it wouldn't mean anything, especially if new players coming in could offset that. That is not the case in EVE Online, if 15% of the veteran player base were to quit, taking a good chunk of the industrial backbone with them as well as the experienced pilots that help out new players, it could cause an economic meltdown and deprive new players of the help they need to keep playing EVE rather than rage quitting after a week out of frustration. Imagine if enough of the EVE University staff were to quit to cause EVE Uni to become unsustainable and shut down. Think of all those new players who have stuck it out over the years because of EVE University who instead wouldn't have stayed.
EVE Online exists because of the veteran players, not in spite of them. =============================== Wit has truth in it; wisecracking is simply calisthenics with words. Dorothy Parker |
