Does it chafe that the only reason you are being summoned to Iceland is to discuss how to sell Incarna to the angry mob? Any of you backing out of the trip yet?

Since CCP did pay the tickets for CSM there are no reasons not to travel to CCP...

The fact that that interview clearly points to pay-to-win coming down the line and CSM being flown over purely so CCP can convince them to sell it to the players isn't sufficient cause for the CSM to change their minds.
The won't back out, they won't resign, the ego stroking is too good to give up.

Dude we are meant to be supporting the CSM.
Who knows maybe they will be able to put our point across and get CCP to change their mind.
Aggressive negotiations FTW |

I don't think you read the interview did you?
The decisions have already been made by CCP. The CSM are only being flown out there to discuss how to sell CCP's decisions to the playerbase, not to negotiate over the decisions themselves.

Everything you said is just bizarre to me.
Dude. (lol) Choose for yourself who deserves or warrants your support. CCP already knows what we want. They have not intention of giving it too us. Aggressive negotiating in this instance is on the backs of the players who will choose one way or the other with their wallets. Not on whatever is expressed by the CSM.

I don't think you can actually draw a conclusion from a poorly translated article. Online translators are notoriously poor at translating. I read the article, and evidently I am drawing some different conclusions from it than you are.
For instance, one line in particular stood out to me: Jerry said that the players will be able to play EVE Online as before where the only things for sale will be decorative and not essential.
But anyway, like I said, it's poorly translated, so no one should really draw conclusions from it unless they can read Icelandic.

I would love for someone who speaks Icelandic to come in here and tell me Google Translator is dead wrong in this instance and what it really says is that they will in fact pledge not to introduce advantage items to the cash store and they are making the CQ optional from the old hanger view.
Bit of a stretch though don't you think.

I wasn't saying it translated wrong, but online translators can make things mean totally different than what they really were. I just think people should wait and not jump to conclusions until after the CSM speaks.
Do I have my hopes up that some good will come of the meeting between the CSM and CCP? Of course. Do I think it will? Deep down, I don't think so. But I am waiting until after we hear back from the CSM before doing anything.

Directly from the interview, via google translate:
"CCP has called for their democratically elected expect players from all over the world this week which will be discussed ways of how the introduction of products for sale in EVE will be presented."
The CSM are NOT being flown out there to discuss any of the many, many issues the playerbase have. The CSM are being flown out there to discuss how to sell the decisions CCP have already made to the players.
Do you honestly believe that their translation is so inaccurate as to completely mis-translate that concept?

To many players are operating under the misconception that because the CSM were summoned, there will be some kind of compromise from CCP. Brace yourselves for this weekend.
