I'm surprised you got so many votes in favour of paying to redistribute skillpoints.
In a game like WoW, Rift, etc. you have a finite number of talent points, and to get points in talent B you have to take them out of talent A. In that context resetting your points makes sense. But EVE isn't like that. You're not distributing a fixed number of points. There's nothing to stop you learning new skills in addition to your existing ones, it just takes time; and that's just the way EVE works. To me that's a feature.

Took this poll, too. you might want to consider adding a "I don't care" option to some of those questions.

all this surveys acros the forums are nice in most cases, but it would be really cool if ccp actually would pay some attention...otherwise this is more or less wasted time... no sig. |

Also it may be handy to explicitely mention in some of your questions that you can pick more answers ..

Nice to see a survey like this. People should take the time to fill it out carefully. CCP needs more information on how the player base feels about the furture direction of our much beloved EVE.

Edited by: Ulair Memmet on 28/06/2011 22:24:00 Missing things that could lead to confusing results:
Are you ok with M-T if Eve online is Free to play? What about if i am ONLY if its just vanity-items?
Are you ok with the NeX ? "Yes, if it's reasonably priced" option is missing. And what do you mean with that question? MT in general? The interface of the NeX? The goods being offered? The prices?
Do you think greed is good? Thats when i started to realize what the real point of this poll was... unnecessary question
Are you happy with ccp communication to the players? Option: "Not since the incarna patch, but before yes" is missing This question means nothing as it is now.
All in all many questions in this poll lead to useless and biased results. Redo it. And add the possibility to leave comments on each answer. Otherwise you might misinterpret answers.
Edit: Don't take this as an insult. I appreciate your efford in making this survey . --------------------------------------------------

"Do you think the last 2 years of expension improve the game?"
Yes, as stuff was added. I'm not very impressed by the stuff itself tough. PI is a major letdown compared to the original concept. CQ is very weak, but at Amarr roleplayers stuck in minmatar cabins. Technically I am not impressed. Looks okay, but the load is crazy. Incursion is nice, but I'm too busy in 0.0 to do them. However, there were nice small fixes and lag fixes, which made me happy. Still many (FW) unresolved however (after 2 years !).
If people want to spend $60 on vanity items, more power to them and to CCP, but don't make this a P2W game or I'll probably leave when my sub runs out.

Answered the questions, half of them are fear-mongering and other half are troll fuel. You might want to change them to be less leading towards your personal agenda and more towards pure questions.

No idea if the playerbase plays already for 3-4 years and has 2-3 accounts on average? What do we actually know about the playerbase demographics?

This is the kind of thing that makes me wish more people had training in Information Science. Double-barreled questions, Inconsistent answer choices, begging the question, lack of context, confirmation bias....
If the people at CCP know anything about consumer polling, they'd ignore this.

Why? I have no desire to create and manage a survey for free about a topic I have no interest in. I was simply commenting on the phenomenon (common across the internet) of people creating unhelpful, poorly constructed and biased polls, and claiming such to be an authoritative source of information for decision makers.

actually some of us trained a lot of skills in our early eve careers that have never been used, or not used in several years. getting these back at even 75% would be better than sheer waste that they are now.
