Twisted Words	Posted - 2011.06.29 03:42:00 - [1] The character "Vw InSigniA" had been offering to sell me a titan so I got back to him asking if it was still available. He asked for a 10% deposit in order to reserve it which I sent to a third party. One week later we arranged specifics of the transfer and I sent our third party the remaining isk to fully pay for the ship. This was at VW Insignia's request so he could start moving it in jump range of the trade system. Next day we agreed on a trade time and insignia remained offline until 3-4 hours later. I tried to convo him then but found I was blocked, and my alt with whom I had previously contacted him had its convo rejected. No response has been made to my mails and I have consequently had my isk returned from the third upon request. I am unsure of what to make of this deal. In the best case I'd say don't expect this seller to hold up his side of a contract. In the worst it's possible that a titan was never being built, and the whole exchange was an attempt to make opportunities to steal isk. Having received no correspondance from VW after being blocked I don't know which to think. My account of events has been as concise and accurate as possible so future clients of VW can make up their own minds. The third paragraph is complete speculation, maybe I will get a response here.

Really rude and very poor business practice if you intend to sell supers on a regular basis. Dealing with that much isk makes people nervous enough as it is and you dont wanna give people any reason AT ALL to doubt you.

A simple eve mail message or short convo explaining the situation may have been a more appropriate course of action. Blocked and rejected convos was an immediate red flag to me and I still don't understand why this was necessary. Fair enough if you got 10b more from another buyer, but if you were looking for a higher sell price why ask for a deposit to reserve it in the first place? It seems my first guess was right, and this was just a failure to hold up your side of a deal. The whole event has been a big waste of time for me; I had stopped looking for other sellers and when we agreed on the final trade time I trained the titan skill in order to be ready. I decided to use an alt to post for two reasons; firstly so I don't unnecessarily advertise my ownership of a titan, secondly so mails with offers won't me mixed up in the sea of other mails on my main.
