CCP has so far lost 0 (zero) dollars. They are however dumping some cash into a hotel and plane tickets to get CSM up there .. so some loss is involved.
Saying that one will do something is not the same as doing it. Until those accounts actually run out everything is status quo.
I am willing to bet that as the time draws nearer a majority of the people who 'unsubbed' will becomes more and more feverish to the point where they start accepting compromises to have an excuse to cancel the 'unsub' ... drugs like Eve are hard to quit!

Yeah, but it's always worked this way, just not to this large of a scale. I'm curious to see, after a month or two has passed what the final numbers look like.

I cancelled mine, just need to wait 2 more months for it to run out... and for CCP to actually have something worth it in Incarna for me to upgrade my graphics card.
I didn't unsub because of the MTs (while I hate them, since I won't pay for them it doesn't matter much to me). I unsubbed because I can no longer load the station and can't change the settings or undock. And yes I have a petition open to boot me from the station, no response yet. I'm patient though; they have 2 months.
