Edited by: BeCause EyeSaidSo on 30/06/2011 04:54:52 EDIT: ccp censored the text in the url i linked to, i am working on a work around.
I had started playing about a month before the release of Incarna, and I have recently been awarded a plex for signing up a friend through the buddy program. I like the concept of CQ, but the implementation is severely lacking in quality, effectiveness, and enjoyability. I had my graphic settings tuned pretty well for the previous release; but after incarna, performance has suffered. If you want to have a ridiculously high poly count and turn all your resource intensive rendering all the way up; please for the love of all which does not suck, do this ONLY on character customization. When I play a game, I want it to run smoothly and intuitively, CQ is neither.
When I dock, I'm not wanting to be impressed by how pretty the back of my head looks, I want to conduct my business efficiently. This will be compounded when eventually I will have the option to step out of my CQ into the station promenade and interact with hundreds of other Weapons of Mass Lag, especially if I want to do any trading in Jita. I have disabled CQ because I do not need or want something cumbersome which takes extra time to load getting in the way of me unloading cargo or using the market. If I am in station, I am probably already looking for something in particular, not sitting on my cyber couch watching tv and market tickers. The removal of the spinning ship display is also counter intuitive because I used to be able to access my ships cargo hold by double clicking my ship, now I have to open the ship tab and double click my ships icon to do the same thing. If I disable the CQ, could you please do me the favor of returning the ship spinning display. Also, when I destroy my target in ship to ship combat, after incarna, it likes to spam a message that my turrets are shutting off. I learned that my first combat excursion, could you please remove that?
After reading responses and devblogs, I have four complaints about the out of game experience. One, that CCP needs to work on communication skills, it is ABSOLUTELY imperative that you improve communication at ALL levels within the company and between the company and customers. Two, that you listen and respond to input from your income stream, if you keep ****ing them off, they will leave you. Three, I have been informed that my fees for playing EVE are supporting other games that will not be able to fully fund themselves. Dragging down my game by supporting failure in others is foolish at best. Socialism is bad in real life, it is not really much better in a game company. Four, Dust should not be exclusive to the PS3, I can not emphasize enough how much I detest Sony for their business practices. Which are summed up pretty well here. Now, on to what I do like about incarna. I like the new log in screen and turrets, the firing animations are nice too. That's it. Haven't tried the new player experience because I don't want more than one character right now. Please, remedy the situation that still brews to this day, I refuse to try to bring any other friends into this game as long as all this BS is going on.
I really like EVE, please don't give me any more reasons to call you CCCP.

CCCP, a reference to USSR, the Union of Soviet Socalist Republics, correct?
Exactly what part of CCP's capitalistic NeX store makes them socialists?
Or are you just one of those idiots who use Socialisim/ Communisim/ Hitlar as general ammunition when something scares you?

I mostly agree and think you are very perceptive as a newcomer to the game. Don't take that as patronising. Sometimes people are so over familiar with something that they are blinded.
Only a couple of disagreements:
Anti socialism sentiments - unfortunate but that's the American education system for you.
PS3 exclusivity: It's simply NOT going to be released on xbox360 due to the way Microsoft expect content to be paid for. The Wii is incapable of running such a system. This leaves also releasing the game on PC, which I am inclined to agree with were it not for the sheer advantage mouse and keyboard gives over game pad. Releasing it on PC and forcing people to play with a gamepad isn't likely to go over so well.
Otherwise, welcome to Eve, hopefully CCP get their heads out of their arses and fix their attitude and their former passion for the game. ~~~

Money that CCP gets is theirs, if they want to use it elsewhere it is not our business, but if i have understood it right those other projects you are referring are not completely out of EVE development, those are side projects that support EVE by bringing new technology or content for EVE players too.
And what comes to Incarna, it is just beginning and problems that occurs will be sorted out eventually. Overall whole incarna patch works pretty good.
And what comes to CCP relations to customers and listening them and their opinions is exellent. Lets take example like WoT where they are banning people from forums if they are criticizing too much their decisions.
CCP lets people to whine days but how they can do anything when people are not listening or understanding their answers, CCP has answered most of the questions all ready but still people are 'blackmailing' some answer from CCP about issues that even does not exist, those are mostly just rumors what CCP might do in the future not something that CCP has really planned or decided to do in EVE.

Yes, CCCP is a reference to the USSR, if you had referenced the original socialism reference in my post, you would have seen it directly following my complaint about propping up unsuccessful games by redistributing revenue from titles that succeed to ones that do not, redistribution is part of the socialist paradigm.
Also, school material in the US is unfortunately too socialist friendly at this time, a subject that saddens me and also one I think that I shall discontinue at this time.

Yes, because they were our enemies during the Cold War, they are obviously evil.
The world would be so much better today if the U.S. was the only country in possession of nuclear weapons.
And I completely agree, socialism (an economic system) is evil. The devil is socialist.

Unless sarcasm can be backed up with reason or facts, it is nothing more than a straw man.

From my reading, it was merely to convey the idea of "wealth redistribution", from Eve to the other titles, in a way that would tweak some noses.
Those who got tweaked are likely Authoritarian wannabes and the state instructs you to pay your taxes to me. Thank for your attention, sheep may now return to their pens, individuals my say whatever they want.
As to the OP itself, sans referenced nose tweaking, +1.
My faith in CCP will return SoonÖ We'll watch what you do not what you say.

All I can say is thank god America is collapsing so they can't try to force their hilariously distorted views of socialism on everyone else.

You realise that, historically speaking, collapsing nations are precisely those most likely to try and force their distorted views on everyone else?
