I'll be the first to admit I'm a master of spin doctoring but...
Quote: òAn issue with the scaling of the Nobel Exchange (NeX) store window has been fixed.
then... Quote: òAn issue causing skills to not be applied to ships has now been resolved. This will be addressed in a future release. Currently you can apply a workaround which is to relog in a station or Log off in space, wait until your ship gets removed from space and then log back in.
When you're flying the CSM in from all over the planet on PR damage control why on earth would you prioritise NEX fixes over little things - like skills not applying to ships? Remember CCP - the game?
Like wow: Quote: òThe bracket around the CQ mirror will no longer be incorrectly visible when the camera is in certain positions.
Why would you even create a rod for your own back with this kind of thing?
CCP - you are not doing well.

This game is currently unplayable because of the no skills bug but CCP don't see it as a priority because they don't have a clue about their game and how it is played. ~~~

Did it occur to either of you that the people who can fix a mechanics bug related to skill points are completely different to those that can fix a graphical bug related to window sizes and brackets? Simple fact, due to the way coders are divided on a project, there are only certain areas they have any knowledge of the code and so only certain places they can actually change something easily. I'd rather those coders fix something they can rather than just side there and do nothing.

You're telling me they screwed up such a BASIC essential part of the EVE GAME that SKILLS DON'T APPLY to your SHIP and they can't fix it in under a week?
But they could fix DRONE SKILL problems?
The WHOLE PREMISE of GAME MECHANICS in EVE IS BROKEN and you're telling me that they have any valid reason for that to be ok?
No, it's not.
What about Quality Assurance?
We should be rioting about this.

Sure, we'll have graphic designers doing the work of programmers...
So instead of having these pesky skills applying on your ship, such as increase in damage, your opponent will have his screen bombarded by pictures of cute puppies.
Actually, that sounds like an awesome skill, HUD hacking...

I did have a reply thought out then I read this:

and fell off my chair laughing.
Last time any QA ever got considered in Eve was before the nerf bat got handed over to Tuxford who promptly hammered almost everything with it. There were more nerfs in 6 months, (mostly to re-balance the problems that the previous nerf had caused), than in the previous 2 years that Eve was running. Missiles, fallof ranges, nano's, drones and a whole lot more caused most of my corp to quit in disgust. lvl4 missions were practically unplayable for Caldari Marauder pilots because heavy or cruise missiles didn't touch frigates and drones that were supposed to deal with them were being blown away by NPC's that weren't even aggroed.
Before 2007, the game was good and nerfs were few and far between. Instead of whining about something, they would find a way to combat it which is how it should be. In a real war, you don't whine until the enemy reduces the power of their missiles so you can fight against them, you find a way to defend against their missiles, disrupting the lock or their tracking so they don't hit you so often. If missiles really were OP, they should have introduced a new mod to help counter them instead of just nerfing them.
Eve has been pandering too much to the whiners and that's where most of your QA has gone now.

Without a filter.
Hilmar learnt not to trust what customers say because they're a herd of idiots. He was right to take that view. I was against the changes that got pushed through, the changes he realised broke things and were moronic.
Where it broke down is no trust was spent on CSM so there was no filter, 3-4 years of not listening/talking will make your fairly isolated.
Especially bad is when you recruit 35k WoW players who then complain about lack of shinny in a *much needed* bug-fix release.

Agent Finder tooltips will now give the correct hint depending on if you were docked or undocked.
Repair hp and the number of defense modules fitted no longer overlap in the Fitting window.
Graphic General The ship on the login screen will no longer skip its animation when the logging in. The ship only stops during authentication and picks up again from where it left off.
Awesome, that's alright then. Don't know what we have all been worrying about....

In all fairness to CCP, of whom I am not great fan at this moment, fixing a minor GUI glitch is simple. Debugging what could amount to an entire class of objects and the interface of those objects with any number of other of elements, is more time consuming and potentially could do more harm if they don't test their fix. Granted it should never have gotten out the door in the first place, but too late now.
My faith in CCP will return SoonÖ We'll watch what you do not what you say.

On current form, they will probably break 15 other things in the process.
I have never been one to whine about CCP's efforts tbh, but over the last year or so, things have been getting steadily worse, and the recent outrage has done nothing to help their cause.
A lot of people are seriously ****ed off at CCP atm, so it is not surprising that they are not getting much sympathy.
