I have set up in what was a nice and quiet C1 wormhole for the first time a few weeks ago.
Being a heavy HS miner I cleaned out all of the grav sites and ladar sites. Someone came in and cleaned out everything else.
Since then (around a week ago) I have had nothing of value spawn. I've been checking a couple of times a day (first thing in the morning and after down time) but I have had just one ladar site spawn and a load of wormholes.
So, my questions is, is there any mechanic regarding the spawning of sites? It is grav sites I would like the most.
Thank you for any help.

Sites spawn same way as in k-space. Once done they get moved to another system in your constellation, you have a quiet constellation it seems.

I think it may have been something to to with the Incana initial patch also.....pre patch i was getting 4-5 combat sites spawning daily in our C3. Post patch this went down to less than one per day. After the mini patch things seem to be back on track again with 6 new sites spawning yesterday alone.

Originally the thought process on WH sites is that you would not get any spawns until somthing despawned in your constillation (not system).
Somone bought every single system in an entire constillation and proved this theory wrong.
Meaning nobody knows how it works, and if you ask me CCP does not even fully know how it works. If your getting a few sites a day your lucky IMO, in our WH for the past 6mths we are lucky to get a few sites in an entire week.
One thing I do know about WH's is nobody knows everything about WH's. We find new interesting things still after 6mths of running them. Stuff that is listed as facts here on the forums that is completely wrong.

Thank you very much for your input.
Just as an aside I didn't realise wormholes were a part of a constellation.
Am I able to identify which constellation my system is in and which other systems are present? Do wormholes themselves share the same constellation?

There is your problem - assuming these are incoming wormholes, residents of other wormholes have been running youir sites before you've scanned them down.

Take a look at the wormhole system on staticmapper or dotlan to figure out the constellation and region.

Originally by: CCP Greyscale Wormhole sites are distributed using the same system as we used for exploration everywhere. This is one of the systems we tend not to talk about much in public as it removes a lot of the mystery when you can see exactly how the sausage is being made.
^^ Food for thought.
I generally see a surge of anoms/sigs on the weekends, which would make sense as there are more players on knocking out anoms/sigs.
As far as gravs go, our WH went almost three months (December-March) without a single grav site. On the other hand, I have seen six grav sites spawn in a matter of a couple days.
Feast and famine.

*Buzzer*
This was disproven by quite an epic project a while ago, in which an alliance purchased all the WHs of a specific constellation, stuck alts in em, and ran sites while monitoring the other systems. Nothing changed. Doing sites does not make them pop up again somewhere else in the constellation. ------------------------------- When I mitigate risks in business, they call me financially sound. We've had our hole run dry a couple times. All we do it give it a few days without running anything and it seems to bounce back. Maybe there's no correlation at all between the break and the resurgence, but it's working for us, for now.
Typically we give the hole Mondays and Tuesdays for a breather, only clearing the combat sites if they look too tempting for neighbors to decide to raid.

Steal your neighbors stuff :P
No really .. that is part of the fun in WH space. If my WH connects to yours I will be in it killing and mining things.

Edited by: Jita Denson on 02/07/2011 00:16:14 I don't seem to have a choice in leaving things alone for a few days. NOTHING has spawned now for 3 days, save for a new exit wormhole when the old one expires every day.
So not doing anything. I can't even do a smash and grab on another system!
Ho-hum, I will run some of these perimeter sites and see if that helps.
Thank for all of your advice all.
PS, I did write a petition just to see if I could get any further info. Reply was...
Anomalies in wormholes are spawned based on many variables, but the full mechanics of this system have not been publicly released.
nvm.
