I don't have any problems with the way Incarna 1.0 looks. Its the shocking lack of optimization and the awful unintuitive camera/controls that blows me away.

Incarna 1.0 = Carbon 1.0
its the first release of a new engine, of course there gonna have optimization to do for EVERYONES HARDAWRE, and ya the camera needs work, but as said there working on a new engine and have said they will be tweaking as they go... this was an initial release to test the engine in wide deployment on large scale hardware deployment... Once they get it optimized and tweaked, maybe even a jog key, or undocking and returning to where we were last before we undocked... or the dreaded "get out of ship" button... then they will move on to you know the multiplayer aspect....
People seem to forget that ... the old video was not carbon as far as im aware it was a third party engine, anyone can license a third party engine... CCP made a new engine after that video when the old engine failed to meet expectations... a new engine that works with current hardware (needs optimization) but can take advantage of things not out yet... or that no consumers have like raytrace hardware.

My only REAL problem with incarna and CQ, is how horrible your ship scaling is, even battleships ends up looking tiny... I just want a real 1:1 scale of my ship to look at, I don't care how gigantic it is, but being able to acturly see the monster your flying in would possible be the most awesome about this whole thing.

I agree completely, a full range of racial only clothing, accessories, tattoos, etc should be released to give back each races identity. Items specific to one race should not be allowed to be used by any others. There should always be a range of generic clothing for those that want it though.
What I can't understand is why CCP have take the route that they have with the races as the lore is one of the reasons I started playing EvE in the first place.
But what if I'm a Gallente student, who has just come back from a gap year helping poor disdvantaged Minmatar villagers to dig a well? Surely I should be wearing some kind of tribal gown and weirdly shaped ear-rings, or none of my colleagues will believe what an amazingly life-changing experience it was?
lol ... you know what's funny about your attempted humour?
Imagine if we take the monocle for example and it was tied into being a reward for certain activities in the game, for e.g. you get one for being a pirate and destroying a certain amount of tonnage of ships or you kill 'x' amount of 'Wanted' individuals or numorous other possibilites.
Don't you think that would have made having one to show off so much more interesting in a sandbox game?
To me an opportunity was lost with how Incarna has been released.

Edited by: Vaya DeLopasz on 30/06/2011 12:05:17 giving back/creating racial items and enabling to buy them with aur for other races would do the trick.
(interesting, wanted to post the incarna features preview video from 2009 i think, which was on youtube, but it was removed.)

My main problem is that this is all we get. This is Incarna and we will never get more than this little "CQ"! We will NEVER be able to meet other characters and get different POVs of our ships and see what the inside of a station is really supposed to look like.
I feel so personally cheated that I'm going to go slit my wrists, side to side not up and down.

I feel I look sufficiently Minmatar, and it's because I worked to make it so.
I think the options are available for you to find where you want to be on that line, how "Amarr" you want to look, it might just take more effort because there are so many more options.
At this point, unfortunately, you're going to have to expect any and all newer clothing/options/accessories are going to most likely be NEX purchases, in itself - that's not a problem with the ISK translation for buying on the market, as LONG as they're not all $20, AKA 400M for a damn t-shirt.
That's just daft, and totally non-defensible. Even from a business stand point. Cheaper = more sales = more money. Dur.

If you play eve for walking in stations you should probably go back to just raiding with your wow friends.

Originally by: Azahni Vah'nos I think most of the problems with the look of avatars in the CQ is the lighting. The way it's done now looks like it would if you shine a torch on something in a dark room. The CQ needs more light sources to smooth out the avatar shading.
The main problem for me is, if you hadn't put your racial tag under your character avatar I would never have guessed you were Amarr.
The new Char creation is homogenous crap that really destroys the sense of history in eve and the current implementation of walking is stations with really poor optimisation and lighting is secondary to this IMHO.
Eve as a single shard goes a long way to make it feel like a place with HISTORY, and to completely revamp player characters so they look nothing like they used to be is disrespectful to this ideology.
It screams they don't have people on the project anymore. |

Original Eve was a touch of genius, as other big games. Now it seems the genius is gone, and we will get a lot of crap under different forms.
More graphics, better hardware, whatever! But there is no soul anymore and that you can't buy. me |
