Eve Defence Force - My Honour is My Life
Eve Defence Force is currently recruiting people from across all areas of Eve. We are a Pirate Hunting corp that is not limited to PvP. We have a multi tiered divisional structure that covers a variety of carers within eve, all of which are dedicated to providing us with the military strength to fight Pirates (and have a lot of fun doing so!). We are a mature corp (maturity of attitude rather than age) and cover time zones from across the whole of Europe, North America, Middle East and Austrilasia.
EDF Logistics: Responsible for mining, manufacturing and research. Combat isn't everyone's preference and it also doesn't come cheap. This is why as an EDF miner, builder or researcher you'll be able to get rich while helping supply our Corporate Fleet Division with the necessary ships to hunt pirates with.
If you want to mine (or haul) the best ore there is and get paid a share of 40% of its value, then this division is for you.
General Operations: Responsible for organising EDF Agent Runners, allocation of personnel and EDF Sales. With the introduction of level 4 agents, being a solo runner is no longer an option. By working within this division, you'll be able to call upon support to complete those missions with minimum risk. All we ask in return are a proportion of the implants you gain plus all Construction components you're rewarded with.
If you are interested in doing a variety of different activities and have no wish to be tied down to one, then you can be an 'Auxiliary' and participate in all our corp has to offer.
Corporate Fleet Division:
Legions: Responsible for hunting Pirates and other PvP activities. If PvP combat is your thing, then our Pirate Hunting Legions are for you. As part of this division, you are required to have at least 2 million skill points and be able to successfully pilot anything from a Frigate upwards in PvP. You have no obligation to remain in that ship so if you have a Frigate and the skills to use it but wish to progress to an Interceptor, Cruiser, Battlecruser or BS then you choose the speciality and we'll fund your training. all you have to do is prove yourself an asset to us.
Cover Operations: Responsible for Intelligence gathering, Counter Intelligence and Black Ops
If you fancy playing at being a spy and pin pointing targets for our Legionaries to kill or prefer to fight on the side of good but undertake more nerfarious activities then Covert Ops is for you. Members of Covert Ops must be able to fly a Covert Ops ship or be willing to be trained for one.
Academy: Responsible for training personnel in their chosen field. If you're new to Eve and wish to develop your skills in a safe and friendly atmosphere, then Eve Defence Force's Academy is the place for you. When you join, you'll be given all the learning skills plus associated skills needed to start you off on your carer, a ship best suited for your profession as well as a helping hand from our instructors. Upon graduation, you'll be transferred to the Division of your choice.
All members of the corp will have access to 0.0 space and can take advantage of a generous benefits package that means the longer you have been with us, the more you're able to receive. From a Cruiser to an Interceptor. A Mining Barge to a Battlecruser to eventually a battleship of your choice. This is on top of skills, clones and insurance. So if you're interested or want to know more, either head here or talk to Agies or John McCreedy (if European), Halfhand or Red Martian (if U.S. or Canada) or SteelMatthias (if South Pacific) in game or alternatively, post here or mail us here.
Anyone wishing to join our Academy, please contact CynSage via EveMail and he will convo you ingame or alternatively e-mail us here.

Edited by: John McCreedy on 08/03/2005 19:56:01 I'm posting a little bit more about us so that people who look at this thread and consider us, know a little bit more about what we stand for.
Currently, Eve Defence Force (at time of writing) has members from the following countries:
U.K. U.S. Rep. of Ireland Netherlands Canada Belgium Norway Sweden Finland Denmark Iceland Romania Hong Kong New Zeland Austriala Korea
Because of this diversity of countries, Eve Defence Force has a lot to offer cultrally. Eve isn't just about a gaming expereince. You need to be able to make a connection with the people you play with. I've made some great freinds from countries I will never visit. So if you're interested in a corp that embraces cultural differences, Eve Defence Force could be the corp for you.

Some questions that we asked by a recent applicant and answers that I provided that will, I hope, shed a little more light on us:
[Q] Are you part of any alliance? If not, are you planning on becoming part of one in the future?
[A] ATM Eve Defence Force is an Applicant of XETIC
[Q] What do you expect from your members?
[A] Eve Defence Force expects all its members to work for the greater good of the corp. Ask not what this corp can do for you, rather what can you do for this corp and you will recieve a generous benefits package, good company and will go far.
[A] We won't give out our operational HQ until you've joined the corp.
[Q] There are times when I just want to log in, grab a mission, shoot a few rats and log off. Is that a problem in any way?
[A] At Eve Defence Force, we recognise that people have other commitments outside of the game. To that end, we have the role of Auxilary where you can participate in a variety of task. So long as you're making an effort, you'll be welcome within our corp.
[Q] What is defined as good effort. I would like to know exactly what would be expected.
[A] You log on once per week and do missions? You hand over all the T2 stuff? You're being a benefit to us.
Log on and do your own thing and don't contribute to the corp? You're of no use to us.
I use the Agent Runner only as an example. Most of us are around the late twentys upwards (I'm 31) and are either at University or work for a living. We don't expect members to power play for 4 hours, 7 nights a week. We all have family, course work, exams, grilfriends, wives etc. to spend time with. Eve's a game and it has to be about fun.
The corp needs to grow financially in order to grow militarily in order to grow financially. One feeds into the other. Agent runners gaining T2 helps us build T2 ships cheaper than we can buy them on the open market. Minerals provided by miners help us build ships to sell to provide members with benefits such as insurance, clones, skills or ships. Researching new Bpos allows for cheaper items to be built for members and generates more money from sales. Ratting provides modules that can be sold or given out to members as rewards.
All of this makes Pirate Hunting easier.
Just because you don't play every night doesn't mean you're not contributing. Every little helps.

Are you a miner that is sick of being unable to operate in Empire space where Ore Thieves fly up and steal what you've just spent hours mining?
Are you tired of operating in low security systems where you have to constantly watch local for fear of attack or harrasment by Pirates?
Do you want to operate in a relatively safe enviroment with access to the very best ores, safe from Ore Thieves and Pirates with the finest protection you can recieve?
As part of Eve Defence Force: Logistics, we can offer you all of this and more. You can have access to the best ores where you will recieve a share of the fruits of your labour. As a Miner or a Hauler, you will be coverd by combat teams, have access to a variety of blueprints if you wish to build your own equipment as well as recieve our generous benefits system where if you're starting from humble beginings, will eventually recieve the finest tools to ply your trade with. On top of all this, you will recieve 40% of what you mine in either minerals or ISK. Your choice.
Best of all, you'll be helping support EDF's Combat Legions in thier fight against Pirates.
Become part of Eve Defence Force. Be part of the New Dawn.

Most odd since I checked it today and it was empty. Try mailing me directly here. Alternatively EveMail me ingame.
Also on a slightly different note, thanks to those very fine gentleman over in FoE, you can now shoot pirates every night in Eve Defence Force
Also, still need 0.0 miners so if you're ready for the challenge of frontier space and like mining/hauling then we can offer you a home where the ore is good and the locals are friendly and best of all, you can earn decent money

Good to know you got helped out.
For the moment, please do not attempt to e-mail us because for some reason it's not recieving. I will look into this in the next few days and post again when it is working.
Anyone who has e-mailed us can contact me at [email protected].
Please accept my apologies for any inconvience.
EDIT: Just wanted to make a quick point for potential miners out there. Average payout on a recent EDF mining op was 5 million ISK and that was mining mostly low end minerals. Mine Ark and Bistot as well and the potential for profit can be great. We are also looking at our prices and we may be increasing what we pay for ore.
