271273 -> 273475
That is a difference of 2202.
So, how are those build numbers arrived at?
with a differnce of 2202, that cannot be DAILY builds, so they do multiple builds per day?
Can CCP explain?

Many organizations chose a build number algorithm that incorporates the date of the build as well.

And many don't, hence the question.

Build lab? doubtful, manual tree merges probably. Too many regressions to conclude anything else.
My faith in CCP will return SoonÖ We'll watch what you do not what you say.

pretty sure Release was build 1000 bets was lower numbers. SO each build they increment until.... they are where they are now.

Yes but then the build frequency is?
Continious integration, well, I Know gated systems that build build non stop onto BABYSITTER build machines. If it then passes the gate on the baby sitters, it gets into the branch and then the "daily build" is kicked off at a time, can take us perhaps 24 hours (it was a huge product that is quite well known - not gona say its name :) ) for "concurrent" build but we had daily number increases for the main daily build, not the continual gate builds.
Just curious.

I take Miilla seriously. He's one of the most inventive contract creators in history. And, we all know it adds up to 12/12/2012, so what's the fuss?

They count the number of stoopid post Miilla makes between patches, and adds that number to the current revision.

Ahh ok, I never used SVN. I used a customised (source level) perforce with custom builder (concurrent) and custom deployers.
Pretty much everything I used has been custom (on a LARGE scale lol - kinda makes CCP look like a corner store :) )

If you'd ever actually used p4, you'd know exactly where the numbers came from.

We use our own build numbers and we got a custom source level perforce. It is not from the shelf. Then again that isnt my problem as I am not a build lab monkey, Im dev side.
We called it something else but I know it is based on perforce code as we bought a source license for it years ago. Don't know what version it matches up to on perforce as it is custom now.
As I said, everything pretty much we have is custom, we never even used what we sell to customers (alough some of that changed lately) and also depends on the Business Unit. We're talking large scale development of perhaps 20,000 devs checking in. Plus testers checking in. Plus document writers checking in. Plus ... well you get the scale :)
