Posting here against my better judgment....
...I am female in RL too. My avatar is actually female too but even if you know Red Dwarf this won't occur to most people. I have been on podcasts before, including one by female gaming nuns so it's no secret.
After a very bad experience in WoW with 12yr old boys, I made a male avatar for my eve trial, in order to avoid any harassment or worse -- discussions on feminism which neither I nor anyone who plays eve really plays this game to get into. I have found for the most part that 90% eve players are grownups and have no problem with female gamers... provided I stay out of Incursions which really are very much like Barrens Chat.
For the other 10% of you... which is 90% of general discussion ... I'm married and my husband is a pirate for 6 years.

You know, just goes to show that there were (And still are) so many people who talk trash about the Devs and CCP in general, including Fallout, like they know them personally. Yet I bet 99% of those people don't or did not know that Fallout is a woman.
