Hello all. I've been toying around in EFT for a little while now trying to get the best fit for my Noctis to do looting of level 4 mission runners. I've come up with some fits that I would like some input on. I'm heavily considering the MK-IV fit vs the others but I'm unsure how capable this fit will really be in a combat situation. The themes I'm working towards with these are movement/quick escape, shield defense, and tackle defense.
----[ MK-IV ]---- [Noctis, Noctis MK-IV] Shield Power Relay II Shield Power Relay II Reactor Control Unit II
10MN MicroWarpdrive II Large Shield Extender II
Salvager II Salvager II Salvager II Small Nosferatu II Small Nosferatu II Small Energy Neutralizer II Small Energy Neutralizer II Small Energy Neutralizer II
Medium Core Defence Field Purger I Medium Core Defence Field Purger I Medium Core Defence Field Purger I
----[ MK-III ]---- [Noctis, Noctis MK-III] Overdrive Injector System II Nanofiber Internal Structure II Nanofiber Internal Structure II
10MN MicroWarpdrive II Medium Shield Extender II
Salvager II Salvager II Salvager II Small Nosferatu II Small Nosferatu II Small Energy Neutralizer II Small Energy Neutralizer II Small Energy Neutralizer II
Medium Auxiliary Thrusters I Medium Auxiliary Thrusters I Medium Auxiliary Thrusters I
----[ MK-II ]---- [Noctis, Noctis MK-II] Shield Power Relay II Shield Power Relay II Shield Power Relay II
10MN MicroWarpdrive II Medium Shield Extender II
Salvager II Salvager II Salvager II Small Nosferatu II Small Nosferatu II Small Energy Neutralizer II Small Energy Neutralizer II Small Energy Neutralizer II
Medium Polycarbon Engine Housing I Medium Core Defence Field Purger I Medium Core Defence Field Purger I
Thanks in advance to all those who reply.

You could also consider using a destroyer. A lot cheaper and a lot faster/more agile.

The problem is that the Noctis really isn't a combat ship. It moves like a beached whale, and without its tractor bonus it's pretty much useless even for standard salvaging.
The ship I'd recommend for ninja salvaging is the humble vigil. It's lightning-fast, so if you fit it with three salvagers you'll wind up with a ton more salvage than you're likely to see with your noctis fits there.
It's also miniscule in size, meaning it can speed tank just about anything you'll see while ninja salvaging. Plus it's dirt-cheap, so even if you lose it somehow, no harm no foul.
Unless I'm mistaken or it's changed, the vigil is the preferred ship of most serious ninja salvagers, including those who bait people into aggressing.
The thing with that is, you really don't want to be fighting in the ship you use for salvaging and looting. You want to buzz in, salvage some wrecks, nick some loot, and wait for them to shoot you (with their BS sized weapons that won't even scratch you while you're moving). Then you warp out, grab your wtfpwnmobile, and come back with a vengeance.

Noctis is not good at ninja. It is meant to salvage your own missions. As mentioned, a Vigil or Destroyer are better fir ninjas.

Cheetah /Buzzard isn't bad either. With good skills and a bit of luck you can recloak between each salvage, just to annoy your victim a bit more.

Use a frig, noctis is big and slow and will hurt your profit margin if poped. Frigs are small fast and cheap, I used a probe I believe it was as a quick makeshift mission looter and salvager while I waited for all my stuff (minus my mission ship) to be couriered to me when I moved 30 jumps away. With a AB it was quick and with the highs filled with salvagers and salvage rigs it did the job, not most most effective but it only cost a coulple mil to setup and would make a good ninja looter and salvager if you asked me.

Back when I used to mission, I had a ninja come in in a frigate, MWD 200km out, and drop a can. He then started warping back and forth between the wrecks and his can, merrily salvaging and looting at will. I was completely unable to do anything about his activities except leave and hope the rats scared him away, which they did.
Edit: yeah, noctis great for tractoring your/fleet wrecks. Not so much for moving around. And because it is a medium sized industrial, you will get smoked as soon as the missioner decides to shoot at you.
Originally by: Krutoj You dont have a supercapital? buy PLEX trade it for ISK, buy supers. Just like any other mmo you can use your RL to pimp your character out (or tank for that matter).
