OK so this has me completely baffled i run a Core I7 970 Hexacore chip (Overclocked Completley Stable at 4.0GHz with 6GB RAM, and a Radeon 5970 all custom liquid cooled and my machine looks like its struggling to render the EVE captains quarters, which correct me if I'm wrong but isn't even running under Directx 10 let alone 11 which this card is more than capable of, no other games struggle and this seemed to be fine until captains qtrs was rolled out!!!!! , can anybody please tell me why this is happening,
Is there a known issue with Incarnia and Radeon cards, as i know CCP are partners with Nvidia!
and yes i read the first (MUST READ) sticky

I'm having similar issues. I'm using an ATI 6950 (OP should sell that video card to a Bitcoin miner one of the best cards for that, but I digress) Seems like everything goes a tad sluggish whilst in EVE. Especially if I've been playing for a little while, also noticed it's taking up 1.3 gigs of RAM. Don't remember it being that much behaves almost like it has a memory leak somewhere.

I am runing a ati 5800 serie (think it was 5870) with max 8gb VRAM (don¦t remember how much win7pro takes off my card). Also running a quadcore 2,40Ghz. (No overcloacks so it¦s stable and not overheating) I¦m runing my card on full perf and EveApp in full quality. Full HD tv screen 32*.
It¦s a bit anoying. The textures seems bad, the fps is not as good as I was expacting and the whole graphics just seems..... wierd... I don¦t know what it is, what happened. Maby it was just me trying to get my fps up to 200 and messing up everything. But now that I saw that patch note when loging in I started to wonder if there were other ati users having problems.
Just reporting in that you are not the only one;P

Edited by: Gaeid Modiso on 04/07/2011 22:42:45 I've got a nVidia GTX 580, and even with some settings at mid or low my GPU hits 100% usage a lot in CQ, so it isn't just ATI cards (note that my framerate doesn't suffer much, but my GPU fan is going batnuts crazy trying to keep the GPU cool). I am running on a 27" monitor though at max windowed mode (roughly 2560 x 1440). There's something it's trying to render that the card has a hard time with. =============================== Wit has truth in it; wisecracking is simply calisthenics with words. Dorothy Parker |
