Edited by: Vice Admiral Spreadsheet on 08/07/2011 03:09:05 Edited by: Vice Admiral Spreadsheet on 08/07/2011 03:07:52 Hey everyone, There's a scam being emailed around, which looks like this:
Quote: Another player is transferring the character Valdus Aldent to your account.
We are currently processing this transfer. The character being transferred will remain on the sender's account, but will not be playable until the transfer automatically completes.
If you are not the intended recipient of this character or are not expecting to receive a character, please file a petition to Customer Support.
If you have any questions, you may browse the EVE Knowledgebase or email [email protected] and one of our customer support representatives will be happy to assist you.
All the links, even the email, direct to http://eve-online.xxx.xx/ (I've x'd out some of the characters so curiosity doens't kill any cats)
This one seems different, somehow. It got through my Gmail filters, which have blocked countless other EVE scams.
Gmail now also shows how some scam emails are forwarded, to make it seem that the email is actually coming from [email protected] Pay attention to the first line of your email: "[email protected] via mail.mgsul.com.br to me" That via bit indicates fishiness.
Anyway, feel free to move or delete this thread if everything's already sorted. I received the email 11 hours ago, so probably missed out on all the fun Walk/fly safe!

I've never seen an eve scam mail
perhaps its the people/websites you associate yourself with ------------------------------------------------ There is a theory which states that if anyone discovers just exactly what the universe is for and why we are here, that it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. Then there is a theory which states that this has already happened. á á -Douglas Adams

I just received the same email a few hours ago. It also managed to weasel its way past my gmail filters. Just a reminder to everyone, don't click any of the links found in the email!
