What are they drinking at CCP HQ?
300-400 mil for the cheapest outfit? What?!
The pricing policy is a joke, wait, the whole Incarna release is a joke, you do realise that if you want to get some new clothes its gonna cost 300 mil a pair? We wont get any free stuff guys. You pay a subscription but you still need to pay 15$ for some pants, the cheapest ones, remember!
So if I get this straight we wont get any new clothes based on our subscription, all new updates from now on are basically accessible only with $$$.
The super fancy ones will be 10 plexes... what? 3 bil for what? This is worse than monocle lol :O Forget about the prices for a second, why the hell does CCP even spend so much time/effort on this crap?
I guess its all downhill from here...
Where is that unsub button again? Ah found it. |

I find that prices are right, maybe some are even too cheap example those combat goggles, soon everyone has those. |

They simply haven't realized that higer prices do not instantly equal more revenue (i.e. Intro to Economics).
I'm sure they'll have someone take the class eventually, and then adjust prices accordingly. |

Edited by: Zombatar on 08/07/2011 22:31:36 I don't mind if some noobs feel the need to buy 3 bil pants of internet pixels. All is good, what I don't like is that I'm paying with my sub for stuff that has no purpose and adds nothing to the game.
This is a waste of time, money and it will erode all that is left good in this game.
When CCP spends all day making vanity items, that is the day EvE is going downhill. So much effort is being put in such an useless thing. Where are the stuff that matter? Oh wait space barbies is the future. |

you aren't, in very short time here (or so a dev says) these things will pay for themselves and then some, thus helping fund FiS development
o wait you don't want that either? |

I'm not going to pay CCP to update EVE with vanity items. If my subscription money is spent on such useless stuff, then it's time to move on for me. It's a bad investment, they do not invest in the game, they invest in ways to make more money, how is that good for anyone paying a subscription? |

The value I get from my sub has just decreased to almost 0 in many ways. And I am very sceptical vanity items will be able to be more successful than subscriptions... unless they will introduce P2W items which is quite probable at this point.
People don't play eve to change clothes but to fly ships. So CCP better give me stuff I can actually enjoy in more ways than looking in a mirror.
18 months ends this winter ^^
if anything the value from my sub has increased
besides, if we do get P2W, i dont imagine much would change

Edited by: Ava n''Daara on 08/07/2011 22:53:15 So long as CCP keeps the NeX vanity-only, I'm fine with them charging as much as they like. At least one of anything made for sale will sell at pretty much any price. Assuming all income from MT doesn't go to the executives' pockets, it should help fund further improvements to the game. Further improvements such as actually making Drones behave properly for a change. How is that a bad thing?
I think the monocle was set too cheap, or they should at least put some much more expensive items in the NeX. Having a monocle hardly sets you apart if 'everyone' has or can fairly easily get one. Higher prices make the item more unique in the game environment.
Having said that, I'll likely never buy anything from the NeX. Just because it's there doesn't mean I'm forced to use it. |

Change is the only certain thing, I guess EVE had to change, but I honestly think that this will not be in the best interest of the game. Too much investment in something that has a real potential to alienate a lot of the player base.
But I agree when u pop that p2w golem, you will feel even better, but I am not sure many will risk that to make it profitable, its hard enough to make ISK to pew pew every day, unless u pay with RL cash, which is already in game. Why would you pay more to get the same effect? |

Of course they invest in ways to make more money, otherwise they'd go bankrupt and they'd have to shut EVE down. They are a business you know. |

Last time I heard EVE ran a nice profit/year, but because of DUST/WOD they need more money ASAP else they go bankrupt. So we get P2W ideas and NEX store in EVE and 0 new gameplay features or improvements. |

You're clearly doing something VERY wrong if that's the case. Funding a pvp habit is relatively easy, unless you're losing caps all day every day. |

yup, and if anything constant e-cheer's we've had every time CCP got a step closer to WiS shows to me that the alienated player based is very much a minority.
That and the fact that they totally revamped the tutorial system again (they finally have specific tutorials for racial weapons systems and such) and that every other story about how "I tried to get my bf/gf/friend/relative to try EVE" ends in they feeling alienated from a lack of having a physical character
this was an expansion for the newbs and should be great for getting more of them into EVE and more of them to stay.
now that CCP has the fabled WiS out (or at least its frame work) they have a lot on their plate planned for the older players and the in space stuff (look at the thread about the cap ships and the 0.0 changes, and then go find the thread where "devs answer all of your questions")

Well honestly it could have been a good idea. Introduce something at a high price wait to see how sales go and then lower the price if it seems too outlandish but i really dont think that was what they were thinking tho..
It kind of how they should release ships except in reverse. They should release them underpowered adn boost them till its right. |

Cheers, looks good, however I'll wait to see if they actually deliver such stuff. To me they seem to have other priorities at this time. I'm just disappointed, that is all. |

I will just simply not purchase anything from the NEX, until prices match my budget. If the prices never match my budget, well... I guess I'll live, since the NEX store isn't required for gameplay anyways. |

post 64 on the third page of the dev answers thread:
Originally by: CCP Soundwave Kern Hotha Does CCP still think that new shiny stuff is more important than refining core gameplay? ?
>> No, I think we changed that priority a while back. Now obviously the Incarna teams are an exception, but the flying in space teams have been iterating on the game. Gridlock has been working on lag reduction for a long time, BFF on the little things and PI are as always chugging away on, well, PI. A lot of the shiny stuff is likely to come out on the Incarna side, while youÆll probably see us continue to refine the flying in space gameplay.
