I'm a frequent volunteer and donor at the habitat here in D.C. so I have to ask this frankly, and please don't assume i'm trolling.
What is her/your interest in Haiti when it is widely known there are MANY hot-spots in our own country that could use the help? I've been helping locally for almost twenty years now and there is still a lot to be done just here in the capital. Unfortunately with the many more-publicised disasters abroad, and i'm not indicating they are of lesser importance, there has been a startling lack of interest in local groups in terms of both funding and man-power.
My apologies if that sounded xenophobic, but in all hoensty it is so simple to help people locally and yet I know so many who just ignore this and spend even more money to get involved elsewhere because they feel it is somehow more noble. I do not want to discourage your friend at all, but I would geuninely like to understand this mindset that I have noticed and perhaps try to use that understanding to convince more people to become active in their own communities aswell.
In any event, i'll be sending a donation her way in the near future and I wish you both the best.

I dont think you sound xenophobic, I think you are doing the right thing! It doesnt matter who you help as long as you do.

Your trolling is pretty weak.
But, most anti-social aspies probably wouldnt understand the diffirence between people in abject poverty and their own selfish desires.
I pity you. |

Quite simply put, they want a vacation but can't be bothered to work to pay for it, ao they try to justify it by creating a lame scam of how they going to help the homeless and rely on the donations from the community... |

People with thinking like your's deserve to extinct. Haitians are different kind, and they wouldnt give a **** about us, if our conditions would be switched. I'm 100% sure about this
sad thing is hes mostly right.
